[Update] Upgrade to XF2

Hey everyone, so if you haven't noticed there are definitely some bugs with the current forum software, and some add-ins that have been discontinued (the streamer tab for starters)

For some context we are currently on XenForo 1.5.14 which was released in 2017 so we're overdue for an upgrade!

We can upgrade the current site to XenForo 2 so that we can update our add-ins and get things working again.

One problem, The license to XF is owned by a previous Admin who... well...

SO, we've got to buy a new licenses for XF 2 and that costs MONEY

As you can see, it's $160 just for the base license and we believe we need the media gallery in order to do an "in place" upgrade of the site as is. (I could be persuaded to skip the gallery upgrade but it does seem some people still use it.)

So between that and the streamer plugin that we would like to get (same author as the old one) which looks like it's around $40

Just a heads up, looks like the staff is gonna be getting together and knocking out this upgrade this weekend. We fully expect everything to go pretty smoothly. We are, after all, professionals.

-BUT-

be prepared for some site outages and/or slow load times. After all, we're updating software thats older than most of you. If/when the site temporarily goes down please do not flood us with discord messages and dms Iwillfuckingkillyou
 
Note: We're just doing preliminary planning/testing this week.
Do not expect us to upgrade to XF2 just yet, we've still got a few things to work out b4.

Preliminary testing complete & successful.
We're still finalising the Addon setup on our testing server and shit like that, as well as generally getting everything in order for upgrading our production system.

We're currently scheduled for PATCH DAY the next weekend, ie the 25th/26th. :POGGERS:
 
Keeping everyone in the loop on this. So far we've got the following add-ons paid for and configured for the migration:
- Badges (new add-on author but most of the same functionality)
- Media Gallery
- Streams
- Donations (another new author but it works as intended)

Things we might still need funding for
- Groups add-on (The Underbelly, Guild Groups, etc, $50)
- If the community even finds this necessary, we can always make similar functionality with basic group roles/requests.

Other?
- Positive/Negative Reactions are built in now but are generalized as just reactions rather than positive/negative. We can look into this further if the desire is still there.
- Styling isn't going to carry over, but we're going to go with a similar color scheme.
- Personally I would like the forum to be cleaned up/re-organized a bit better for the current state of twinking.

I'm learning there was a lot of bloat and unnecessary Add-ons that we used that is either built in function to XF2 or it's no longer used/needed

We are also considering doing a "closed beta test" or PTR of the staging site to get user feedback, etc.
 
We'll be upgrading to XF2 tomorrow.
Estimated hard downtime: about 30mins.
Estimated time until core features are restored: a day, give or take.
Estimated time until all features are restored: probably a few months. :^]
