Twinks, If we give you New game?..

I and my friends had really good time of twinking our little toons. The patch 3.2.2 kills everything at one shot. The Blizzard made best game but they don't need us (twinks) (anymore?) - they have billions-zillions of sheep.

And I want stand up and ask you a question:



If we start up small game developer company and give you completely new game only for twinking - small word, instances, battlegrounds and arena. Are you interested? Will you support us?

If a game is only about twinking, then isnt twinking the endgame? And if twinking is the endgame content, then youre not a twink anymore. Which means your game isnt about twinking, its about endgame pve/pvp

Basically it would just resemble the tournament realm. If the tournament realm was a stand alone game, that would be awesome.

OK, you got the right point. What if you can get a level 19|29 character at start? With no XP at all. No longest-when-life PVE again. No boring questing ever. Just 2 tiers. You may switch character tier at any time. Maybe you can switch class too (omg! . Yes, this game is very-very similar to WoW endgame - do farming for items, do daily quests and etc. Maybe it's more like Guild Wars but with continuous world and WoW class mechanics, coz GW sucks at this points so much.

I would be interested... but theres only a few problems with me being interested...



1) It can not just be soley based on the highest level before the next bracket (aka, 19, 29, 39 and so on). I myself am / was a fan of twinking level ten characters back in the days of post BC / pre WOTLK. Not saying, that I do not have fun playing a level 19 rogue, or hunter, but honestly. It gets kinda boring... Its cute to see level 10 warriors / rogues take on 5 rogues and beat them all down before a caster or a hunter comes by and wtf owns you. Its also cute to see a level 10 hunter shoot 2 arrows a second, and still out DPS 19 twinks.



2) I do not believe in having tier gear for twinking. Its just completely pointless and ruins the game in my opinion. Why not just have the standard / default twinking gear as the gear you can get from merchants. Having the gear we have now in WoW allows twinks to actually go and choose how they wanna setup their twink. If you give us premade gear for all of our classes, how are we suppose to do something unique and think out of the box?



3) I am one of the few people that think the way blizzard is treating the "twinking community" is bullsh!t. "We need to balance out 80's and end game, we don't care about twinking." Thats essentially what they have stated, hundreds of times on the forums ever since / before WOTLK came out.



Honestly, if you and your "friends" can get a small sub-business off of a game. That'd be alright with me, honestly it would... Or maybe instead of wasting tons of money on another game just built for the minorities. Why not set up vinilla and BC servers / realms. None of the 450 profession stuff, BoA gears and crap. Just allow people who wanna live / play in the past let them. Instead of getting techinical with private servers and getting the legal system invovled.

I agree strongly with canihascookie's second point. Most of the fun i have with twinking is the theory craft of being able to manipulate item sets to subtley get one extra stat. With tier gear you cant do that, theres BiS and gems, thats it. However, that said i do love finding a new item, eg spidersilk drape when it came out made my belly fizz

OK, maybe it's time to uncover my identity a bit. I'm real game developer with 6 years of experience and have 2 MMO games in my portfolio. They released on our local market, so you don't know this titles. You see that is a huge level of competence.

If we wana release with game in any reasonable amount of time we must sacrifice something. Leveling and PvE must be cut off. I talking about game without levels at all.

I agree. That not what we want to give player a fixed setups. I never told we want to do that.

That's the point! The game made exclusively for minor community. We can have niche protected from big companies.

Only Blizz can legally operate WoW servers and making derived (based on WoW resources) games. No other company can do. What is you offer? I don't get it.

Interesting background you have, can you be specific on what 2 MMO's or does that gotta be remain anon? I realize that blizzard is the only one that can legally operate the WoW servers. The question was just a question I was throwing out there, I'm sure it has been asked many times with no success.



But here is a question I have for you. How would you set this game up? Seeing as you can not exactly copy the gear, area names, and areas from World of Warcraft, that would be essentially copy righting because the codes blizzard uses to make WoW work is no free / open source, if it was, blizzard wouldn't be a multi-billion dollar empire (I think?)



Another thing about games that are made is that, there is some form of donation gear within those games. For donating x amount of dollars you can get x item and use x item to buy items from stores z and y. If you understand what I am saying...

I dont think he is talking about a private server... he is a game developer (apparently) and he means a whole new game, similar to WoW, but still its own game.
