Twinking in MoP

Aelobin

DK Twink (80 / 85 / 101)
I've been going through the datamined items on MMO-Champion, and I thought it would be nice if we had a place to compile all the info we discover that would relate to level 80+ twinking in MoP.

Level 80:
- In the previous expansions, Blizz has released BoE gear with item levels just below the new questing gear for 3 levels below the previous expansion's level cap (67/68/69 for TBC->Wotlk and 77/78/79 for Wotlk->Cata). Due to TBC and WotLK bringing 10 new levels each, those items stay in the upper brackets (65-69 and 75-79) which are inactive. However if they do the same with levels 82/83/84, what's going to happen to the 80-84 bracket when people are running around with ilvl 364-403 items?
- Runescroll of Fortitude changed to 6% stamina
- New feast usable at level 80
- New professions trainable at level 80
--- Enchanting: 160 of a primary stat on each ring
--- Inscription: ?
--- Jewelcrafting: ?
--- Leatherworking: ?
--- Tailoring: ?
--- Engineering: ?
--- Mining: ?
--- Skinning: ?
--- Herbalism: ?

Level 85:
- Possible quest items: ilvl 372, ilvl 399, ilvl 404, ilvl 414, ilvl 419?
- Random enchantment BoEs are either ilvl 364, ilvl 377, ilvl 390, ilvl 403, ilvl 416 or ilvl 429
- Dungeon gear is ilvl 425?
- Epic ilvl 424 agi staff (from inscription?)
- Engineering: ilvl 457 trinket + ilvl 457 goggles
- Alchemy: ilvl 457 trinket
- MoP enchants require an ilvl of 384 (ranged scopes only require level 85)
- MoP bandages
- Buff food that gives 250 of a stat
- New drums that give kings with 78 resistances (thought they were removing resistances 0.o)
- Runescroll of Fortitude (Rank 2) changed to 7% stamina
- New flasks usable at level 85

Level 86:
- ilvl 424 off-hand
- ilvl 424 int staff

Level 87:
- Dungeon gear is ilvl 450
- Buff food that gives 275 of a stat

Other:
- New glyphs

It would be interesting to see what exactly the do.

If Blizz were smart, they would not create any kind of OP BoE items, or let 84s into MoP starter instances and gearlock them to Cata only gear. They probably won't though, and everyone will most likely go to 84... UNLESS the 80 PvP gear with the new mechanics is just that powerful.

There's being powerful and then there's level 84's with 150 - 200k hp doing 20+k dps, I don't think even fully PvP geared people would be able to avoid being one shot.

If it happens the way Aelo and me thinks though, yeah. We won't be doing BG's at 80. :p

85-89 might not be much more fun

my prediction for twinking in MoP is so many people will quit for D3 that queues won't pop.

Tbh, assuming they pull off the fancy new pvp stat, I doubt there's going to be that much more of an issue compared to now. 80s will just have to stack the stat to competed with 84s in that gear. Having a healer with 60% reduced damage taken from players (or more) will basically mean you'd be hard-pressed to kill one (even with the ilevel disparity). 60% off 100k wouldn't quite 1shot. I just hope they get it right, I'm tired of being unable to win against certain 84 comps.

Hmmm it'll be interesting to see what happens with those gems

Few months ago it was SWTOR. And now ur back in wow..?

Yes it was SWTOR, but my computer could not run it, since its a shit laptop.. But im saving up for a new computer(Which should be easy, since i've gotten alot of extra shifts +
GW2 is free monthly pay, so i can play both :)

Lulz, I wonder which profession will be better then. Will have to wait and see I suppose

Inscription with either Leatherworking or Tailoring will most likely be the best choice (if the enchants are available to level 80s) as the bonuses for those are calculated based on the new enchants for each slot.

I suppose then it comes down to trinket worth vs the massive stat increase when it comes to alchemy (since we won't get new flasks)

While I suspect this is a typo or a database error, I noticed the MoP Elixir of Mirrors requires level 80:

Elixir of Mirrors - Spells - WOWDB

The rest of the flasks and elixirs require level 85.

750 dodge at 80 is roughly 16% dodge.

i would assume that is going to be changed if everything else requires 85
