Twink info = Keylogger?

This is not meant to say that there is anything malicious with Twinkinfo, but randomly today when I tried to go to the site AVG anti-virus stopped the attempt to give a warning saying that the site was a know phishing / virus blah blah blah site.

Anyone else had any experiences like this? Mod's want to comment on any reason why this may have happened? Again, not saying I got a virus or anything just wondering why *randomly* twinkinfo might piss off my protection stuff.

Damn, you caught us =[

Twink info logs keys all the time dawg.>_> >_< <_<

Anyone else find this thread stupid?

Damn, they are on to us!

No but seriously, your anti-virus is clearly not functioning correctly.

As mods don't run the tech part of the site, the only one that would even begin to be able to give you a solid answer is Drayner the admin of TwinkInfo.

No. No keylogging here. I have no reason. I don't play Wow and I am already wealthy. :)

PS. I am not offended by the thread. I understand your concerns.

im 100% sure its a false positive of avg-- IMO its a crap antivirus anyways band u get what u pay for...

1 of 2 AVG components would have triggered this (probably false positive) alert.

AVG 'webshield'

or

AVG 'linkshield'

Google them for more info about how AVG operates and what these components do.

Are you running the PRO / commercial version? Did the alert appear immediately after you clicked on a TI link? (linkshield) Was the link you clicked an internal TI link or a link in a member's post?

Or... did the alert appear as or after the page loaded? (webshield - probably a false positive on some sponsored ad script).

I couldn't find the domain Twinkinfo.com on any of the large blacklists or blocklists.

AVG have history for generating false positives from benign files, urls and scripts. google "AVG false positives" to see some of the recent ones, e.g. the ITUNES IZ VIRUZ! false positive a month or two ago.

Microsoft's Phishing Filter Blacklists the U.K.

Joaq is on the money, it's almost certainly a false positive. I'd keep an eye on it and if it happens again post as much information as you can in this thread.

The site actually got blocked today by avg. Prolly because the site isnt rated. I just skipped past the block and its all good.

i have reported this false positive to avg technologies

fyi : in av-comparatives.org antivirus detection tests avg sits at 94.0% detection with few false positives, slow scanning speed while norton sits at 98.4% detection, few false positives ans fast scanning speed.. in av-comparatives' test this 4.4% difference means more than 100k malwares that were not detected..

feel free to check it at AV-Comparatives - Independent Tests of Anti-Virus Software - Main-Tests

Like everyone's been saying, probably your AVG - but mine was doing it too o_O Every time i clicked TI on my hotbar, it would pop up warning me, so i just changed the url and went directly to the forums...then i realized the site might have been compromised, so i ran a big 'ol scan over night, nothing came up except my gay porn cookies (so much better than normal cookies!)
