twink gear vs TWINK GEAR

Ok just something I've been wondering about for a while now. Why do people care about a) imperfect twink gear b) gear that is not best in slot c) gear that used to be good but now is "has been gear". Examples: sentry cloak, 10AP mail bracers, 3stam/3agi rings, my personal favorite [item]Antipodean Rod[/item] which is a unique item (can only put one in your bag)-- so selling a stock pile of 7 from the guild bank takes a while to do. what are people thinking? are they simply pack rats? or are they hoping to turn a small profit (my guess)?

I know on my server. EVERY level 15-19 green with decent stats is ridiculously overpriced

Sanguine sandels for 100g, they just hope some clueless twink buys them without knowing what BIS is.

many people find value in imperfect gear. some people will settle for less than trying to get the BiS.

Imo, 3/4 eagle gloves should never sell for more than 3g but 4/4 eagle can sell for >70g.

There are an awful lot of BOA levelers in the BGs who are happy to buy that slightly sub-BIS gear at 80 prices, and put less than BIS enchants on it.

I have priest right now that I am making that will not have perfect gear in some slots at first. I will upgrade gradually over time. In the same way as I don't feel like grinding emblems and farming AGM for a class I don't even know how to play yet, I also don't feel like spending 999g for a tree bark jacket when I plan to farm the BOA chest eventually. I'll get it all the way to perfect gear/spec when and if I feel like it's worth it to me. I may just not like playing that class and move on before that happens.
