Twink Cup Rule Committee Sign Up Application

  • Hi Twinks,

So as most of you already know, i'am planning to make a 39 twink cup. But before i make the post, I need to make a committee so i can start a foundation of solid rules before i make my first post for the twink cup.

How do i apply may i ask? Well i'm glad you asked, i have a few simple questions regarding why your most suitable for the job.

#1 : Why do you deserve to be in the 39 committee team?
#2 : What other experience do you have with setting up tournaments?
#3 : Are you able to FULLY AND UNDOUBTEDLY commit yourself to the team?
#4 : Are you level headed and able to work with other committee members on coming to a conclusion with whats best for the Twink Cup regarding rules.
#5 : Do you have much experience in other BG's aside from WSG? Example: Silvershard/Twink Peaks/Battle of Gilneas. Will help with making rules.

Questions are basic and simple. Applicants will have up till the (EDIT, END OF THE MONTH) to register or until i find 4-6 suitable committee members, which ever comes first.

I hope to do my up most to prevent the same from occurring at nineteens and want to make sure that EVERY rule is CRYSTAL clear and that there should be no questioning them.

As time goes by, i will be looking for other people too fill in roles like shout casting/dedicated stream hosting channel. etcetera, etcetera. That's all in due time.

Best of luck to those who apply :)

THE COMMITTEE TEAM HAS BEEN DECIDED.

    Committee Team:

    Livingforce
    Anatomyx
    Boostz
    Fancy
    Yoube
    Bigmoran

Congratz of those who got in. Sorry to those who didn't make it.

    Re: Twink Cup Rule Committee!

Well I've already spoken to you individually, but here's a post for the thread to get it going.

Why do you deserve to be in the 39 committee team?

I've been involved in nearly every bracket since BC and I love the competitive side this game has to offer. I enjoy player-held events like this and I'd really like to be a part of making this one happen.

What other experience do you have with setting up tournaments?

A lot. I was the head organizer of two separate level 70 arena tournaments in Cataclysm, both of which were backed by NAO gaming (the people who ran max level tournaments at the time), skill-capped, and various other lesser-known sponsors. On a smaller scale, I also was the head of a draft RBG project at 70 that allowed a lot of players not involved in active RBG teams the opportunity to participate in competitive matches.

I'm very confident that I bring more experience in organizing an event like this than anyone else you'll find.

Are you able to FULLY AND UNDOUBTEDLY commit yourself to the team?

Of course. When I commit myself to an event like this it's something that I'll stick to unless some serious issues arise in my "real life".

Are you level headed and able to work with other committee members on coming to a conclusion with whats best for the Twink Cup regarding rules.

Yes. I'm extremely vocal on issues that I think should be looked into and I don't really ever get lazy when it comes to solving problems. I obviously want to have the most balanced event possible, so I put in a lot of effort to achieve that and ensure that everyone will have fun and we won't be running into any BS when the time comes to play. At 70, I spoke to a lot of players outside of our group of organizers to gather opinions from everyone and figure out what was in the best interest for the players competing, and I will be doing the same at 39 as well.

As long as the other members of the committee are willing to discuss things with me when we need to without brushing it aside, there shouldn't be any problems in this area.

Do you have much experience in other BG's aside from WSG? Example: Silvershard/Twink Peaks/Battle of Gilneas. Will help with making rules.

Yes. At max level, I'm a multi-hero RBG player who has participated on some of the highest rated teams in the U.S. in every expansion since RBGs were introduced. In the first (and arguably the best) season of RBGs, I was in the top 50 in the world with a 3200 rating. I've also been the leader or had a major part in leading each of those teams, so I have a very strong understanding of how every BG needs to be played. In terms of twinks, I've played at 70, 85 and 99, all of which regularly had pops for every BG available due to the high amount of players in those brackets at the time that I played each of them.

Thanks for considering me, and I hope you'll let me help you make the 39 twink cup into a reality.

I have encouraged and enjoyed every revival I have been at in cata and Wod

#2 : What other experience do you have with setting up tournaments?

None whatsoever - I just advertise them mainly

#3 : Are you able to FULLY AND UNDOUBTEDLY commit yourself to the team?

    If I didn't have time I wouldn't be playing wow 12 hours a day

#4 : Are you level headed and able to work with other committee members on coming to a conclusion with whats best for the Twink Cup regarding rules.

I will make them unbiased and with no loopholes - not unlike the 19 twink cup

#5 : Do you have much experience in other BG's aside from WSG? Example: Silvershard/Twink Peaks/Battle of Gilneas. Will help with making rules.

I rbg at end game they are pretty simple concepts in how the bgs work and the strats behind them. Shall be easy to set rules inplace for future tornaments if WSG isn't the only map during TC

I'm going to preface this application by mentioning I'm obviously in the same guild (and the same team) as one of the above applicants (Anatomyz). If this automatically discludes me from being considered, I completely understand. If you are only able to consider a single person from a team, I would easily recommend Anatomyz. He has far more experience with this than I have.

Why do you deserve to be in the 39 committee team?

I believe I would be a good addition to the 39 committee because of my experience in the twinking environment. Besides 39s being my 'home' bracket, I have a considerate history in almost every other bracket, which allows me to consider situations and scenarios from a different point of view, and in my opinion, prevent any sort of bias in committee discussions. Basically, I've seen and experienced pretty much everything under the sun in terms of twinking.

What other experience do you have with setting up tournaments?
I have minimal experience with creating and organizing WoW tournaments, besides general assistance with the 70 NAO tournament. What I do have experience with, are large scale group environments and the organization required for them. My last 2 years of HS I was house leader (not sure on the US version of this, prefect?) for one of the sporting houses (the school gets divided into 4 divisions for the day's events). This meant I had to ensure around 100 people were on time for their sporting events or house activities, as well as other general organizational duties.

I have also been a team leader/manager in work related roles which I believe would assist me in this duty.

Are you able to FULLY AND UNDOUBTEDLY commit yourself to the team?
Yes. I am a reliable person who does not try to get out of things or half ass something. The only possible hurdle is my oceanic time zone, in regards to specific times with US members. As long as I have a heads up I can generally make anything.

Are you level headed and able to work with other committee members on coming to a conclusion with whats best for the Twink Cup regarding rules.
Yes. I am a very considerate person and have always believed in hearing every point of view when discussing or reviewing a situation/scenario/problem. I am not judgemental and am very open to ideas. The whole point of the committee is to make an event like this as fair and open as possible, and I am very much about that.

Do you have much experience in other BG's aside from WSG? Example: Silvershard/Twink Peaks/Battle of Gilneas. Will help with making rules.
Very much so. As I mentioned earlier, I have been a part of almost every twink bracket which have included those battlegrounds. I have also been a prominent RBG player at endgame, playing with the US Barthilas Cata team 'Shredded for Stereosonic', a 2700+ RBG team in season 11, considered the top oceanic RBG team, and top 10 US at the time.

Great idea Living. Wish you good luck as always with the tourny mate!

#1 : Why do you deserve to be in the 39 committee team?
I'm a long time 39 (since vanilla, baby!) with a strong knowledge of the bracket and a passion for competition. I'm a coach IRL and so looking at rule sets with a mind towards bending/breaking/cheating those rules is kind of my job. I'd love to bring that experience to a community that I love.

#2 : What other experience do you have with setting up tournaments?
I have never run a WoW tournament before. However, I have either been in charge of or been on a committee for a number of competitions and tournaments as a part of my job.

#3 : Are you able to FULLY AND UNDOUBTEDLY commit yourself to the team?
Absolutely. When I go in on something, I go all in. I'm also not a particularly awesome player, so I doubt I'll be picked up by any guilds looking to compete. Which means I'll be able to approach rules and tournament creation without any measure of loyalty or bias towards a particular team or play style.

#4 : Are you level headed and able to work with other committee members on coming to a conclusion with whats best for the Twink Cup regarding rules.
I do it all the time. I'm not particularly fond of mincing words or walking on eggshells though. If I think somethings a stupid idea, I'll say so. But I'm not tactless.

#5 : Do you have much experience in other BG's aside from WSG? Example: Silvershard/Twink Peaks/Battle of Gilneas. Will help with making rules.
I can't say I've ever played Silvershard mines. I did, however, spend a lot of time twinking 85s so I have considerable experience with twin peaks, BoG, AB, AV, etc. (IE I really wanna see the cup played on twin peaks instead of wsg)

(Small aside: I'm also incredibly experienced with approaching companies to sponsor events. I'm not sure how the twink cup organizers feel about corporate sponsorship but it's experience that I have and am willing to utilize to make this tourney awesome)

This right here is key, that I hope is not overlooked. Money talks and bullshit walks. Get someone on the committee that is willing to donate or create money. Advertising, podcast, etc can all go a long way to getting others to the bracket.

I would recommend taking a look at a guy like Chops. He is old time 39, and a great guy. If he can add sponsors that is an added bonus.

Why are 39s getting a TC before 29s? Is it because you and your friends have gf'd 39s or something? Makes no sense why 29s just outta the mix lol.
