Twink Cup All-Star Draft

Myrm

Legend
To kick off this year's Twink Cup there will be an all-star game with teams drafted by community vote. The community will vote on an alliance and horde team leader, and these team leaders will decide on team composition. The community will then vote on which players will fill the roles of each team. If a chosen player is unable to play then the player with the second highest amount of votes will play instead. This game will primarily be for the entertainment of all involved, but there may be prizes that will be revealed closer to the game day. Date is TBD but there is a good chance it will happen on the same day as the battle rap tournament.

Use this thread to nominate team leaders and players. The vote on team leaders will be held around the beginning of April.

Thanks to Feralordx for the suggestion.

alliance: HB saxxon lukenukem casino tapout livingforce

horde: pizza darkchewie skeezin

idk i suck with names i just put top tier players so many more i should nominate most likely i just cant remember names

Can we call it an all-popular draft rather than all star? Because judging by the top lists that have been posted on this forum the last few months, there will be very few stars in that game....or people best at their class/spec.

I think these things are a good idea, by let's be real that it won't be an all-star game. It will be a most popular amongst the cookie-cutters game.

anyone who plays a caster dps

also Myrm i know its very early but could we iron out things like roster sizes? i was talking to some people and we thought that a limit of total toons along with a roster limit of people would be a good addition. we thought that maybe 15 total people and 25 total toons (armory links provided) would be a good place to start also comp rules, arena rules, and the spectator addon to allow comentary on the arenas/BGs

Regarding rules, please do not require the use of any communications software. Simply put, I'm not allowing the DDosing trash in the bracket to acquire my or anyone of my guildmates IP address. That means we aren't using Skype and won't be logging into an communication software but our own. This ruined the tournament last year, so very valid concern.

Can communicate via battleid to coordinate games.

EDIT: Also I've mentioned before I'm willing to contribute to prize pool on behalf of guild, and still am (potentially a sizable amount). This is contingent on getting some assurances that the rules will be minimal (rather than letting guilds manipulate them to favor their style of play, such as by banning classes they have trouble with / don't play as well) as well as that it can be administered in a manner that won't require us to broadcast our IP anywhere. Both of these are non-starters - if you have to get DDosed to play or the rules will be manipulated by teams to their advantage (to force people to play their middle fight for example, which they're somewhat good at vs horrible at objective play), then it simply isn't a valid tournament so not worth's anyone's time. In that case I'll launch my own with my own prize money but would prefer to contribute to this one and make it even bigger.

the only comunication you might have to do is an interview. even though you might decline to do it i still suggest that everyone regardless of who you are gets in touch with their ISP and gets their IP changed and a vpn set up. there are lots of ways people will try to get your ip to ddos you and you want to make it as dificult as possible for them.

Roger that Rusks.

And interviews can be conducted by instant message or even telephonically.

I completely agree, MYT. I too don't want it to just be the popular players who have made it on the "best of" lists the last few months, because your right, then there will be very few stars in the game.

To ensure that all the real Horde all stars and the best of said classes/specs get to play, my guild and I will not be participating in the All Star game.

Should be a close and competitive game between the all stars of both factions. Looking forward to watching the stream!

Whatever it takes to keep your friends from ddosing a "win".
ouch

not really sure where you get your intel from, i agree just as much as the next twink that ddos ruined last years tournament and will most likely ruin this years as well

Not sure if you're trying to get a rise out of me with the sarcasm but I couldn't care less about this really. I have no desire to play in this either and I'm sure nobody on my team does either....even if voted most popular. Your guild had some ppl on the list that deserved to be considered best at their spec at 19 (you and Dark for example), and definitely had some on there that didn't deserve it...and lots not from your guild fall into both categories as well.

I made the mistake of playing in a PTR "all star game" back in the day that left a bad experience in my mouth even to this day. It reminds me of early in my MBA program - everyone wanting to be the leader whether they are qualified or not. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. I didn't like listening to Heysus scream the loudest back then to win the right to lead the horde to shame, and I'm sure I'd like it a lot less now when I respect far, far fewer players.

Also goes without saying that the top 30 guild back then could have rolled the all star team on either side due to lack of cohesion/etc...and I'm sure that's true today, just like it is in all sports with an all-star game. So I have no plans to participate either, but didn't need to announce it....and not just because the only way I'd win a popularity contest award is if it was for least liked in the bracket. I was just pointing out how it won't even actually be an all-star game (the one back then largely was one actually - in 90% of cases anyways). I'll stick to playing either with my team or in pugs.
