Races
Alliance-
Human: I am personally a human as a rogue. This doesn't mean it's the best, no race is really "the best" it's just which abilities you prefer. So what do humans offer to rogues? They offer the http://www.wowhead.c...man-for-himself. This great racial ability offers a 3 minute less "removing impairing effects" trinket and also opens up a trinket slot. This allows you to get a second http://www.wowhead.c...na-grand-master. A bonus 12+ Stamina (120 Hp).
Night Elf: Questionably also one of the best races, the Night Elf's main racial is http://www.wowhead.c...8984/shadowmeld. For rogues this is like a vanish ability at level 19. This can easily be a real game changer. If used properly, you could get an ambushx2 for massive damage. One shot -take out the broom-
Gnome: Not many gnomes if your active in the 19 bracket. But their racial is http://www.wowhead.c...9/escape-artist. Clearly not as good ad the human, but it does have a 30 second less cooldown & it doesn't share cooldowns with your Insignia of the alliance. Also gnomes get the instant stun bomb.
Worgen: Worgen's can also be a viable race. They come with two boosts for rogue, a cit increase and of course http://www.wowhead.c...8992/darkflight, a 2 minute miniature sprint.
Dwarf: Dwarfs come with a fairly decent racial: http://www.wowhead.c...20594/stoneform. More of a survival thing, but can be used effectively by the right player.
Trilium's Pick: Human or Night Elf.
Horde-
Blood Elf: If you play the 19 bracket everyone sees the massive swarm of blood elves, but why? Blood Elves come with two vital abilites, the first is http://www.wowhead.c.../arcane-torrent. A 3 second silence to everyone around you with a 2 minute cooldown at this level is rare. In addition, they have an arcane resist ability which gives them the edge over spell-casters.
Orc: Orc's have the racial http://www.wowhead.c...0572/blood-fury which is self explanatory. I will admit not having much Orc experience, but I would presume it could do a nice little burst on the enemy.
Troll: Trolls have the haste racial http://www.wowhead.c...6297/berserking which also allows for a nice burst of speed hits. It also could allow a decent burst on the enemy.
Undead: Undead's have two abilities. The first is a little worse than human, http://www.wowhead.c...of-the-forsaken, but they have another ability which could be nice out of combat to make up for it: http://www.wowhead.c...577/cannibalize.
Goblin: Goblins have 2 main abilities:http://www.wowhead.c...070/rocket-jump which is a jump that propels you forward and can be used in various ways. The second is http://www.wowhead.c.../rocket-barrage which is an instant ranged attack which can be used to finish off your foe.
Triliums Pick: Blood Elf

Play Style
Why I am including this: Most rogues have different play styles. How they sap, how they position themselves, and overall how they play objectives in Warsongs/Duels/Fights. I don't expect any rogue to agree with my tactics, so please hold your "Why would you do ____?"
Thanks
General: Rogues adapt to the environment around them. How many enemy's are there? How much HP does the EFC have? All these things you need to keep in mind before engaging into a battle. As a rule of thumb, I try to either run the flag or return the flag, generally the only times I come out of stealth if it benefits the scoring of my team.
Some situations:
S:Waw Tawent has a 10 man going and they are all escorting their Flag, what do I do?
A: Assuming someone else is running the flag, I would start sapping off some players of the group, try to split up the pack, There would be no way to kill him with so many, so why shadowstep in?
S: Both teams are evenly matched, there is 3 minutes left and 4 debuff on each flag carrier. Your team has capped last.
A: Depending on our teams healers, I would say we had 2, I would Say in chat for the healers to drop back on D, I would also drop back on D. Since we capped last we would be winning. I would want to play more defensively to insure the safety of my flag carrier.
S: A hunter on the other team is flag carrying mid, no one is around him. It's up to you!
A: First sap the hunter, do NOT waste shadowstep. Open with ambush and don't let him get away from you. If he uses scatter shot (assuming your trinket is up) remove it fast and stay in his range. Once he disengages THEN use shadowstep, he should not be able to escape you then.
Video of me playing: Try to watch how I move, not the ambush's in the start. Also, some good hunter killing. Also notice, I wait for on my teammate while I have the EFC sapped, you do have people on your team!

How to Ninja
Explanation: One of the best things about being a rogue is when you "Ninja" a return. What is a "Ninja"?. When the opposing team is passing the flag to a more suitable flag carrier, you return it when it is dropped before the enemy that was suppose to pick it up gets it. There is 3 main ways to "Ninja".
Sap Ninja -
Explanation: This time of "Ninja" is a little more tricky. So how do I sap "Ninja"? Right before they are about to pass the flag, you sap the person you think they are passing it to, you can generally spot who (Lots of HP, Pally, Warrior, Druid, etc.). This method is a little more of a guessing game because you need to pick who to sap AND time it right. If you sap to early, you will alert them that a rogue is around and they will be a lot more cautious when passing the flag. There are many variables that come with this method, but it can allow you to safely "Ninja" the flag without being caught. Make sure, you do not alert them that a rogue is around, do not sap anyone near by unless it is needed or when you think they are going to pass. If all works well, they will drop it, the supposed flag carrier won't be able to pick it up because he will sapped, and you return it for your team!
Shadowstep Ninja-
Explanation: The shadowstep Ninja is by far the most challenging of the "Ninja"'s to master" You need to be quick with your clicks and time it exactly right, or you WILL die. While you are setting up for a shadowstep ninja, like the Sap Ninja, do not alert the enemy's there is a rogue around. The rest is very simple, a half second before they drop the flag, shadowstep behind the flag carrier and click the dropped flag. This method takes a lot more effort because you are forced to "out-click" the other opponents around you. But, it can be very effective.
Follow Ninja -
Explanation: The Follow "Ninja" is best used when its a one to one pass off, no big crowds. In this method, you get as close as you can to the enemy flag carrier without being caught, this takes some practice, the first few times you may be caught because you will not know how to range yourself. But, in this way, don't use sap or any other spells, just get very close, that's why it is very hard to do in big mobs. You want to be right next to the flag when they drop it so you can return. This way really takes no skill, but practice due to the fact that if they see you, they will kill you then pass, and you will not be able to have another shot at "Ninja"ing the flag.

I only have experience with Sub. so that's what I will be showing you. Ask Mocha for Combat.

Nightstalker x2http://www.wowhead.c...62/nightstalker
Improved Ambush x3 http://www.wowhead.c...improved-ambush
Waylay x1 http://www.wowhead.c...improved-ambush
Nightstalker: I picked this to get the speed boost to catch the enemy.
Improved Ambush: More opener damage.
Waylay: Slows down the enemy so they can't kite/get away.

Nightstalker: I picked this to get the speed boost to catch the enemy.
Improved Ambush: More opener damage.
Waylay: Slows down the enemy so they can't kite/get away.
