Transmog/appearance question

Let's say there are 2 items: item A and item B.
Item A is a 2 handed sword that requires level 80 and drops from a level 80 raid. It has the appearance of a wooden stick.

Item B is a 2 handed sword that requires level 20 and drops from a level 20 dungeon. It has the exact same appearance as item A.

If someone had both these items, they would share appearance in the appearance tab just like these two gloves:

But let's say I don't have any of them.
I now go into the level 80 raid on my level 80 warrior and get item A. And now I relog to my level 20 warrior. Can my level 20 warrior transmog his weapon to look like item A/B?

Speculation is fine but I'd really appreciate if anyone can give me the answer with certainty.

Aye i have multiple items like that you will need the one that can be used on low level

What Holythane said. You can't transmog an item although it shares a model, if you can't actually use it on that character.

No. it all based on ilvl of item + lvl lock if such exists.

No, you must possess and/or have learned the likeness of the level of the item of which you want to transmogrify.
