The thick skin you refer to probably isn't as thick as you think when it bothers you that much.
That said, you have every possibility to choose your own group of people that you engage with and the ignore functionality is in the game for a reason. You can vent all you want, but nothing will change. It's been like this for years and years, it's literally nothing new.
Either see through it as some sort of online culture or whatever and look at the people outside of that (I don't condone excessive toxicity, but friendly banter has its place), or simply pick the people you want to hang out with and avoid the rest. There are people who are non-toxic for the majority of the time (everyone can tilt every now and then).
The thing is, it's usually not the vast majority that's as toxic as you think. Fact is that loud people tend to be heard more often, and the overly toxic people are exactly that.
