Tips for getting Lucky Fishing Hat?

This is my 9th week going for Lucky Fishing Hat and have had NO luck at all getting it. Do you guys have any tips or techniques?

Yeah and make sure to have high level guildies kill mobs in the area for you so yuo don't have to deal with them and can focus on fishing.... or you get some hired protection, either way. East coast ftw.
 
It's actually not hard to put on some hit gear and maybe a pot and kill the mobs on your own these days.

All 3 of my hats dropped at Yojamba Isle. Rant took like 8 months. My Huntard bout 6 months (during which i won the contest 3 times). My Lock got it first week. But this was back in BC and Wrath.
 
Only ever gotten 1 line 1 boot 1 hat, all on diff toons. Hat and line at yojamba, and i randomly was fishing at the "G" when i got boots....didnt know about it at the time.
 
At the wierdest times, the fish 'drops" I was talking to a guildie who was fishing for it, on my 10 twink, and was casting every few steps. And it happened to be on the end of my line. I was tabbed out so when i tabbed back in i was like O SHIT. (I tabbed out after i clicked on the bobber but didn't see the fish) So yeh keep tryin. you will get it soon. maybe...
 
Back in BC i got 5 boots, all on the east coast. I got one fishing hat in my entire history of twinking, which was on the G-spot (hah). Sadly it was when i was farming for the lure on my 70 warrior.



To be honest there are no secrets, besides common sense.
