timewarped gear BIS?

I have been lurking for a while now and building a solid twink however with this event i saw that there was some rally good gear on a vendor in the birthday area and had a look the weapons and necks it sells are Ilvl 51 with at least 20+ points of stat allocation. so i looked at some of the time walking dungeons and the gear is dropping at ilvl 56 with huge stats i have yet to have any proc an upgrade so not sure if it even can however this is out stating all bis gear i had obtained before by a significant amount and thought i should post it here so i can either help people not miss this or get corected as i am still new here and would be more then open to being point in the correct direction
 
I believe the socket gear from TBC dungeons and quests are still the better option. But using the TW gear isn’t a bad way to get a twink started!
 
Sockets are probably better still but if the tw gear can proc sockets rings might be worth it. Weapons might also be a consideration for replacing with tw gear.

Was going to type exactly this, but I haven't played classic TW on any of my twinks yet.
THe dungeons are really, really fun tho, so we'll have a ball finding out if we can get mighty upgrades from them.

sweet i have cucked on some of the timewarped gear over the TBC socketed gear and while it feels better right now i have held on too the other gear that i can't get back because i didn't want to mess up
 
Another thing to look at is event reward gear. Our blue items from the last Brewfest got sweet upgrades. For lv11, this Terrific Tankard o' Terror went from iLvl 43 to iLvl 60 with more stats. Best OH item I've seen.

If anyone does get a socket/tertiary upgrade on timewarped gear, please post it. The melee weapons with the higher weapon dmg is definitely worth looking at.
 
@Katmandu I saw a piece of timewalking gear drop with a socket today. I've only seen one ran probably 10 dungeons but wasnt checking all the drops religiously for all of them. Didnt drop for me it dropped for a level 80.
 
So if regular timewalking week rotations will also be available for us there would definitely be alot of BiS items which would rock the whole meta if they where timewarped

Does it seem like the chance for item upgrades is severely nerfed compared to last xpac to anyone else? I built my lvl 11 twink last week and ran BC dungeons for several hours and got like 3 upgrades out of the 100+ pieces I looted. Maybe it's just bad RNG, but def seems lower to me.

I have yet to see a tert or socket & i'm hoping someone will post evidence that it can happen for lowbies.
 
Some items are preferable and some are BiS. The trinket from Dire Maul is BiS. Same can be said for weapons with the sheer wep damage they do for your mainhand, or Int for casters

I am not lying when I say this, I DID see a a Defias Rapier drop as purple. Unsure how common this is. I didn't get a screenshot sadly, we were rushing to finish the dung before server restart.

That said it would probably just be a novelty collectable and not BiS. The regular version drops as pretty low ilvl. No unique TW scaling.

This is not a Timewalking thing, it can proc epic in regular Deadmines as well.

I don't think there is anything that is BiS for lvl 20 (F2P / Vet), other than some really specific weapons (Agi 2H and bow?) and *maybe* an int offhand. Cloak, Rings, Bracers and Int/Str weapons (and the Dire Maul trinkets) all have a better socket/proc alternative, that compensates for the stat loss and provides bonus speed/healing from the SL gems.

With that being said, if you do not have the actual BiS items for your toon already, you can get a few pretty good and easy-to-get pre-BiS fillers.

replacing a 3 socketed hatebringer MH with a haste/verse ilvl 60 wep gave an overall increase to my abilities. Same goes with replacing my 2socketted heirloom MH on my rogue with an axe that has proc
