Time for an upgrade!

Hello all, first time poster long time lurker here. So I quit WoW a few months ago, but I'm back purely for twinking. I need to update my old rogue and get back in the saddle The World of Warcraft Armory



If you've got any suggestions/comments/etc toss 'em out!



Here's what I'm thinking:

-Replace throat piercers with a charmed ancient bone bow

-Get a second defias chest to put +4 stats on

-Get the BoA pvp trinket for some resil

-Work on finishing my professions (Not sure if I should change mining to skinning, the extra hp worth it for flag running?)

-Of course change out my old pants with the leggings of the fang with +16 armor patch

-Replace serpent shoulders with stained shadowcraft (Unless you guys believe the 5 agi is better on Herod's shoulders)

-Second AGM for insignia CD

-Change talents to 5/5/0



Things I'm not sure about:

-Is the haste trinket worth getting?

-+15 agi on shadowfang? Or stick with lifestealing?

-Change out offhand for thief's blade (Or a different weapon)



I'm willing to bend over backwards for my twinks to make sure they're the best I can make them (Exploits excluded of course) so I don't care how much time or how hard it will be, if you have a suggestion I'd love to hear it (Even if all the above is completely wrong lol). Plus once I'm done I'm currently planning to transfer over and join the rest of you over in Medivah!

There is a search function. I am sure it would be much easier to check out one of the billions of topics already made about rogues. There is also a guide section.

I would not get +15 AGI but instead go with Fiery.

Herod's Shoulders will not convert to leather for a Rogue - this only works for Shaman and Hunters (unless I am completely missing something.) Beyond that I must agree with Doffe, since there are tons of threads with Rogue gear, information and various opinions.

Correct about the shoulders. The class must be able to wear to top end form of the shoulders to be able to wear them.



100 hp doesn't work anymore, just replace the chant on the chest you have with 4 stats.



Keep the Throat Piercers and use outfitter/itemrack to equip Upgraded Dwarven Hand Cannon stats @19



Keep the Cannon equipped for all combat, use a macro:



/equip Throat Piercers

/cast Throw



When you re-enter combat you'll regain the stats from the gun and still be able to throw the darts on the fly when needed.



These will get you to hit cap:

Stained Shadowcraft Spaulders

Deviate Scale Belt

Spidersilk Drape +3 agil



Added: There are guides to upgrading for 3.1. Looking before you leap would be suggested before posting another thread like this. Everything is pretty much covered in the stickies.
 
HP was nerfed, but the damage from a firey proc was unchanged therefore you should have a duel firey set up in your gear bag. Also with Haste trinket and/or +10 haste gloves you could get a lot of fire procs in, in theory. Although I haven't seen it yet, i expect to see some shadowfangs with firey in the future. However, Most rogue's are going with the SF+ lifesteal arrangement for survivability.
 
throat peircers are for breaking bandages because of the .5 sec cast time. more of an arena thing, if you plan on doing wsg get boa, if you cant just go throat peircers.



Cant get 100 hp to chest anymore, just slap 4 stats on that BDA and gogogo.



Cant get a whole lot of resil but it scales alright, cant hurt to pick it up if you can work it in.



My personal proff choices are engi for bombs and herb for lifeblood, but mining is an easy proff to level and 7 stam is nice. idk how much crit you get from skinning but i dont think its enough to merit any time investment.



Shadowcraft shoulders are win. highly reccomended.



As for weapon chants i reccomend SF/CB with duel lifesteal. many will say go duel fiery, but i feel lifesteal performs better over time.
 
skinning gives 9 crit rate at 225. 3% and change crit. 3.02% I think. Ill check.

I do what I described above. It's netted me about 25 kills in the past 2 days alone. It's for wsg just as much as it is for arena.

When I hopped on my warrior chuknoris for a bit the other day I got around 5+ kills of people trying to run away from me with my thick bronze darts, gotta love throwing weps.
