EU+US Thinking of coming back after a LONG break...

I tried BfA and got my main to lvl 119.25.. Then I realized that I didn't enjoy playing the game anymore; at least not nearly as much as I did in the past. So then I unsubbed again. (I started in closed Beta and experienced endgame during each expansion)

Anyways, I hopped on a Vet 20 did a couple BGs and really enjoyed it again. However, I just have a few questions since I've been out of the loop for so long. So any helpful answers would be greatly appreciated:

1. Do enchants work in BGs again?

2. Power Torrent or Ele Force for casters?

3. Obviously Crusader for Warriors.. but Dancing Steel/Berserking, or Ele Force for other melee DPS?

4. Is BiS in iPvP still [stupidly] those high level stat-less white quality gear, and engy trinkets?

5. Is there some sort of Bnet community chat I should join (or ask for an invite for) to find cross-server premades?

6. I saw a post that the FotM is Fury Warriors(?), but is the balance in this bracket currently as bad as when Surv Hunters were just ridiculously OP? (Just curious about this one, it's not like it would prevent me from playing if the answer was yes, lol)

7. Any tips or advice for an oldschool twink-a-holic looking to make a return?

Again, I'd appreciate any helpful responses; and I hope that this forum still has helpful and supportive members, like it did in the past. :)

Nope, gear/stats matter again

Fury is strong however there are a lot of strong classes now, each with strengths and weaknesses. Worth playing is imo bal/resto Druids, arcane mages, resto/ele shamys, all hunters, outlaw rogues, fury wars, disc/shadow, mw monks, holy paly and probably a few more.

Not really a tip but twinking hasn't been this much fun (for me anyway) in ages. Gearing is fun, templates are gone and there are no Surv hunter or BM monk level of OP. Ive been in some amazing very close random BG's lately. Also endgame sucks so theres that.

I'd argue that fury warriors are the new surv hunter. But yeah idc, there's always bound to be one at least. All is made up for since we get stats back.

PS, ran into a premade with 6 geared fury warrior twinks. How desperate.
 
6. fury is really honestly not that bad, it's heavily dependent on crusader procs to be nightmarish and it's extremely kiteable by anything with a slow. not to mention, unlike SV hunters there's just not that many obnoxiously good players who feel like playing fury warriors (in my experiences). dont get me wrong with a healer pocket a good fury warrior can be like you just summoned ivus the tree guy in alterac valley. but they don't dominate the landscape of the bracket like sv hunters did, imo.

the real fotm is that healers are unkillable gods who also top dps charts. and with that said, disc twinks are significantly more of a nightmare than fury warriors.

7. pick ur class(es) well. play around with stuff and pick a class or classes you really like.

i also think twinking hasn't been this fun in a long time. but there's a kinda limited meta to me with not a ton of spec options and not a lot of creativity in your roles. there is no equivalent of old prot hybrid healers, for example. there's less big crazy skill cap abilities, there's less moves period, there's less impactful talent trees like the old druid mobility choices.

so whatever you play, you better like it

Ah okay, that's good to know! Also, I've always enjoyed playing Resto Shaman, Resto Druid, Disc Priest, and Holy Paladin (well, and Combat Rogue.. RIP)... but those have always been my 4 go-to specs for this bracket; even before turning your XP off was actually something you could do. I particularly enjoy PvP healing in a premade or with a friend.

If anyone ever wants a *decent* pocket healer, feel free to hmu. Just know how to peel please ;)

All healers are viable in their own way, which is something I really enjoy about BFA currently.

If I had to rate, this is how i would:

1. Disc
2. Resto Druid = Resto Shaman = MW monk
3. Holy Paladin = Holy Priest

Although margins between each tier are not super large in my opinion. Any of the specs you just listed (besides combat oh noes) is a very good choice. If you have questions about holy pal if that's what you decide, you can shoot me a PM whenever you want.

And also, I know @Dimitri is leader or a moderator for the horde xpoff community, but I don't know who runs the other faction. @ohti can provide linking to the 20-29 community (which is not the faction specific one).

Welcome back, and I hope you find enjoyment out of this bracket during this xpac, I think it's the best it's been in a while.
 
hey, I'm another dude who hasn't played in a while. Well, I've been playing a few weeks and just unlocked lightforged and void elf, but I've barely touched my twinks because I have no idea what the crap is going on post-legion. These answers are great :D

couple other questions:

how do vets scale against 29s now? I know templates are gone, but do stats still scale upwards- what's the power level difference between vets and full 29 twinks?

How are Lightforged racials? I've been leveling a couple allied races for loremaster/heritage armor, and I noticed that the Lightforged aoe is insanely powerful, pve-wise. How is it in pvp? And how is the death proc? Are silly rogues going to die when they kill me? :3

I'm sure I'll have more questions later but having been scared to touch my twinks since I came back, figure this is a good place to start. I definitely want to get a few casual twinks geared out and feel things out again!
 
From the few BGs I've been able to play as Disc, Balance and Fury, it's been a whole lot of fun! One could say I tried the EZ mode classes, but hey I'm rusty, of course I wanted to try a strong spec.

But rn I'm using the little time I have to do Headless Horseman. At least I'm not obsessed with it like I was with Love is in the Air.. no spreadsheet or anything, lol.

Anyways hopefully I'll be able to run into some of you guys in BGs soon. :)

1. From what I experienced, the gap in power wasn't very noticeable. But the extra skills 29s get are pretty damn good for some classes (heroic leap and grappling hook are good examples).

2. No idea, I don't remember playing with, or encountering a Lightforged Dranei.
