Thinking about a 29 twink healer

LoL, I tried to paste 6 rows of smiles....you are only allowed 15 images per post >.>

seems fair, but i think some long posts might be emotionally gimped because of that.

Agreed, and I don't know about you but I am personally outraged by this grave injustice. I am petitioning the matter to increase the amount of smileys allowed per post.

So I decided on a priest :) I like the fun of shadow. DPS when you can, heal when people are getting hit.

Looking in the discipline tree, the utility seems quite good as well. I'm planning on running this priest with a group of friends so I'm looking for spec ideas now.

There's the standard 0/0/20 cookie cutter shadow that I've seen many times.

Looking for some discipline/hybrid ideas, as well as armories of some outstanding priests (any spec).

Also, looking for you guys to send me some AH or drop luck for a Crystal Starfire Medallion. Haven't seen one anywhere at all! :( [EDIT: Thought I'd log on to mess around with stuff cause I can't sleep and what do I see? /trade WTS Crystal Starfire Medallion. YAY!!]

EDIT:

What would be the playstyle of a discipline spec? Seems with better PW:S and most disc. specs taking imp. renew, it would be: keep renews up, shield people, less focus on dps/more on dispelling magic/healing.

Is Healing Focus not an essential talent in the holy tree?

18/2/0 is the main disc setup i hear about.

playing a disc priest is where you do anything to control the battle. PW:S, renew, SW:p, fear, mana burn, wand, and use cast time heals if necessary.

If I were you, I'd definitely roll a shaman. They are rather rare these days it seems, and they have great versatility. Totems (Earthbind especially), Ghostwolf, which makes them the fastest players in the BG, a very decent offensive spell in Lightning Bolt, DoTs, Slows, and Interrupts with your shocks (Flame Shock, Earth Shock, Frost Shock) and they're just generally fun to play. And I'm a 29 holy pally ^.^

the grass is always greener on the other side.

Anything is fun compared to a 29 holy pally. Hows spamming flash heal goin for you?

holy pallys can be fun if you don't just spam FoL. sometimes you have to cure poisons and melee stuff. it can actually get somewhat dynamic. not to mention a holy pally needs to pay attention to where they're at on the field.

still, i <3 the 8/10/12 spec @39

Disc is basically the healing spec for 29 priest. Like droid mentions, 18/2/0 is the most popular with the 2 points for the 70% pushback talent in Holy. If you spec Imp PW:S, get the glyph that heals a % of what your shield absorbs and spam shields on people 1st, followed by renews, and flash heals whomever is getting focused. I generally save offensive dispels unless I have a ton of mana, and for the flag runners (both friendly and enemy ones). Offensive dispelling can be very annoying though, but if they wise up to it, it will make you a bigger target than you already are.

I am shadow at the moment, and honestly its not so hot. Mindflay, a 4 second CD reduction on your fear, spirit tap, and the stun proc from blackout are about the only good things. I do think Disc is way better and plan to return to it when I am running BGs again. ATM I am farming gear on/for other twinks.
