They do care...

oooooooooooooooooo

It's funny thinking that people actually still has hope for low level pvp.

I'm not a mathematician, but I don't think reducing base damage is going to make that much of a difference when, from my observation/understanding, the real unbalancing factor is the way enchants (and scrolls, but that's another topic) are currently scaling. Y'all feel free to correct me if I'm wrong there.

Reduce dmg on mind blast, devouring plague, ice lance and arcane shot = happiness and joy.

There was already a thread on this, it's not going to do anything.

Lets assume they remove base damage completely, here's your reductions:

Ambush: 54 less
Arcane Shot: 70 less
Aimed Shot: 80 less
Ice Lance: 80 less
Mind Blast: 100 less

It's all about stats and insane enchants. Base damage does nothing sadly.

Beyond this they've mentioned eliminating base health. It's probably fair to assume this all is in effort to streamline mechanics rather than balance low-level pvp. I think they're just spitballing. There are so many things they seem to be interested in being interested about but they can't yet commit to anything specific other than an overarching directive to simplify.

Anyway, getting all worked up about stuff in the early days is worth a chuckle. If they had the game sorted every third patch wouldn't be a reinvention of the wheel (now with sprinkles!).

Oh and even when they DO care they have a track record of NEVER balancing the game properly once since its creation. So good luck.

I dont see how reduced base damage solves balance issues when the biggest problem are spells that scale way to good with gear. It would amplify the difference between someone in leveling gear and someone with fully enchanted boas. They seriously need to scale enchants per level instead of per expansion. Level 60 enchants at our level are just extreme overkill, but i havent seen them adress this issue.

Well its way to early to worry about this. Im sure they will come up with a creative way to screw us over.

they don't care bout low lvl or xp off pvp, there money comes from end game robots (grind repeat, grind repeat) so any changes to pvp are made with a view to make that better :)

Looks like protection warrior is gonna be a huge pain if it gets nerfed

It's not so much the 20-24 disparity that's special here. The idea that everything is going to be balanced down to the level of fury warriors/enh shamans is what's important. Think of it like cata, where basically every spec was viable at 20.

You don't really believe that do you.... There will always be... an underpowered and over powered class.

I remember several times in the past 6 years of WoW that they have talked about balancing low level PvP, and here we are years later and they still can't comprehend what balance means.

If you are right (and I hope you are) I will gladly eat my words... But my bet is the classes will remain just as unbalanced as always.

In other news, Blue post says they are looking at reducing or completely removing base resilience, but it's probably not gonna be happening till WoD, and not without some other big changes. I seriously hope whatever they do, they do it right because if they get rid of base resilience, get ready to see your toon get deleted in PVP from ubergeared twinks. And the XP-on brackets may as well bite the dust.

But like I said, it's a blue post saying they are only looking at it, and nothing is set in stone...

I's not like b.fatigue and resil are the foundation of wow. Twinks were doing their thing long before either band-aid came along.

Removing either isn't imo a big deal. Damage creep, on the other hand, is a big deal. And it's something they haven't mentioned yet. Resil and b.fat were designed to mitigate creep, and now they've added huge health pools.

I wouldn't take anything from a dev that includes the phrase "low level" seriously. The last time they looked in to it we were gifted with exp-off and the death of almost every bracket.

If they cared about people that weren't working up to 90 f2p's would have access to the cash shop.
