Even the challonge wants us to play the finals as double eliminations

with fewer teams it does make more sense
Muskie, you need to find a way to explain this to lindenkron and blackout. I tried very hard, and all I was told was that they don't want only two games, because that is anticlimactic for the viewers. If the winner's bracket team thrashes the losers bracket team in two games, then they deserve to be champions. It's not about the hype of the viewers; that hype will already be there. It's about which team is the best team. Do the right thing for the bracket, and fix the format. It may not make a difference at all. If the format is kept the same and it doesn't affect the outcome of the tournament, then there is no difference at all. However, if it does affect the outcome, then you will have some very upset participants and viewers, and you will have no one to blame but yourselves.

Conq would rather have his vision played out than what is best for the community, this has been shown several times in the past.

Players are just mere puppets used to have something to create hype around which is the tournament, we are just used for viewers and exposure to for the bracket. Which is already dead, pugs dont pop and it doesnt look bright for legion either.

Only reason I haven't refunded the tournament is for the community...it is not worth the stress and toxicity for the exposure it will give us in my view, especially since it will not compare to the exposure we will have in legion.

Viewers matter to me but before I cared about viewers I had a passion for the community as a whole (GG19 has given away thousands of dollars in market value items), however it's hard to have passion for some specific people when all you hear is toxic mumbo jumbo, while you are trying to accomplish something. Prior to curse chat I had a philosophy not to waste my time on haters and that's why i've elected to stay out of it permanently now.

Part of what drew me to this community again back in MoP when I left private servers are the amount of interesting personalities, that's something I find very socially stimulating, for me it is enough to read the forums, I don't have to be in voice or curse with people to get my kicks and to feel apart of it.

When I was a kid my life was difficult, I played twinks and they helped me get threw some really hard times, that is part of the reason i'm so dedicated towards growing the bracket, I hope I've helped give other younger people in difficult situations the same opportunity, it's comments like this that make me think that the toxicity will be this brackets undoing, people are so caught up in anti-conq talk they de-motivate themselves from evening playing/enjoying.

In regards to legion, I am not afraid of change, some will adapt, and some will (much to my pleasure) leave. It's my hope at this point some of the self-destructive tendencies some prominent individuals in this community have will lose its grip on the bracket.

In short: when you guys enjoy The NWL, I enjoy The NWL, when you guys enjoy XP Off, I enjoy Xp Off.

I only have one question. I don't doubt that you are committed to the community. However, do you value viewers over the fairness and integrity of the Twink Cup? Because with the current finals format, and quotes from blackout and lindenkron, it appears that the TC 2016 organizers care more about how many viewers they get than they care about how fair the tournament is for all teams participating. And that is disgusting.

Neap, forget about it, hopefully next year we will have a League of legends format, that will be more fun

What is the reason that will prevent the organizers from being just as stubborn, narrow minded, and flat out ignorant of the disparity next year? It isn't rocket science.

In a best of seven plus one, the losers bracket team can lose four games and win. The winners bracket team can only lose three and win. Unfair.

In a best of seven plus two, both teams can lose three and win, but are eliminated on their fourth loss.

Neap, they don't want a possible 2 game final, 2 x bo5 is best. But they won't change it, so hopefully next year we will see the more fun league of legends format, or 2x bo5 like livings perfect 3v3 arena tourney

ya i think 2x bo5 might be better now because the tourney *should* take less time to play through. Ill bring it up. Dunno if anything will change.

I have stated this each and every TC, and I will more than likely state it again with the next one.
The more we let the "community" get involved with the decision making, the less successful this tournament will become.
"Real" video game tournaments present players with the rules. Players accept these rules or they don't participate in them, period. No ifs, ands or buts...
For some reason this video game tournament, the Twink Cup, has forsaken that normalcy and has chosen to let the "community" make some of its most important decisions. And it has cost it dearly.

Exactly why I have given up, hopefully next year we will have the more fun league of legends format.

you're argument is shit since this tournament is run by people from the community, the prizepool is funded by the community and frankly there would be no tournament without the community

It's not too late to change it. We don't have to go through with an awful idea just because of what time it is. The only limiting factor in this changing is the stubbornness of some certain tc organizers. No "double elimination" tournament uses an unbalanced grand final. If every team in the tournament does not have two chances to lose, then you lose the right to call it a double elimination tournament.

Double elimination tournaments with weighted grand finals (example: best of seven + 2) are run by people that have experience setting up tournaments. We do not have said experienced people running this tournament. When a tournament organizer literally says, "we don't need to use logic. It doesn't have to be fair. we don't want just a two game final, we care about having more games for the viewers..." , then there is a major problem.

Post last updated on 6/19/2016, teams that are participating in the tournament are now properly updated and posted. Information regarding schedule coming in the next 2 days.
Hopefully. Schedule will most likely be in the form of "Will start earliest at" (Meaning be online from there and onwards) to try and squeeze games in, in case of no Lower Bracket broadcaster.

Even in "Real" tournaments, players influence the rules if they are poorly made. In the initial Road to Blizzcon rules, certain rules were horrible, High end pvpers had an outlash at the specific rules and the rules changed. People are happy with the majority of the Twink Cup rules, but the Finals format is unfair. The current format is an improvement from last year, which I'm sure people are thankful for, but it can be improved even farther, and that is what people are trying to point out.

ya but difference is that its their living and theres hounders of thousands who would take their spots if they didnt play (for their living)..
this is a community that we apperently care about, with 8 teams(?) makes it roughly 100 participants or something.
spot the difference

Have a wonderful day!!

You sound like a young rapper aspiring to become the Tupac.
Good luck making that living playing video games. I would suggest getting an advanced education though. Your odds of making a living will increase significantly.
are u retarded? i never said i want to be a pro gamer, im actually paid irl for my sports career, quiting wow after tc this year due to it..
just made my point saying its different when a COMMUNITY runs a tournament with 100 participants compared to your 'real' videogame tournaments :)
