Yup, it's the best ranged weapon that you can get to upgrade afaik.

What is so difficult about doing the quest a couple of times. I got 1x blue and 1x purple in 5 attempts ... Or didn't you play the friendly breeds freely? The 5 attempts cost me about 60 minutes or so. Sure, it can take 10 tries or 15, but you want to play longer with your twink.
How long do you need to skill the professions without a trading house etc.? And then you wanna throw away so much stamina? I would rather do without jobs etc. than the weapon.

Well, rerolling for epics in general at this point is superfluous and a waste of time.
I've heard horror stories of people rerolling toons 700-800+ times. You just had good luck.

i knew a couple who get more thrill out of perfecting toons with epics than playing the actual game (bgs)

Because weapons is the most important part and with the buff to BG crate blues its all but irrelevant.

No epic is worth rerolling for, every slot for every spec has a piece that's just as good that doesn't require rerolling.

except there are a handful of items that are better, no argument
you could even say it’s easier to reroll for something like xakxak over farming bgs endlessly for adapt chest
Specific items would like worn defias bracers, dastardly bracers, xakxaks lab frock, soothsayer leather/mail, harvest boots, waptor mace, festering bracers,
Then you have epics in non bg slots that outclass everything else like sparkproof mail/leather, belt of equilibrium
we can’t just pretend these items don’t exist

My point isn't that epics aren't better, my point is that they're really not much better than anything we can get without rerolling. Like, the difference between a MM hunter with epic sooth and spark and a weapon that rerolled his toon 1500 times and someone who didn't reroll once and is using blues is minuscule.
The epics do exist, and they are better than anything you can get in that slot, but people dramatically over exaggerate how much better they really are.

Hmm, a smidge off topic, but i noticed that when I was turning in a quest in NE noob zone you can in fact farm the bogling roots
With patience for waiting on others to turn it in, can put your pet on passive, fire one multishot and let them/help them kill them, 3 more +1 dmg boosts

I did one more for shiggles, no dice. Then when looking up which quests I want to do, I discovered the gun from Loch Modan also has 16 agi when epic, but has 2 more top end weapon damage. I have being ocd sometimes =/

Hahaha, I think u will find a lot of us WoW players have OCD.
I have purposely stopped myself from going down the re-roll path otherwise I would get stuck in a loop looking for perfection in my twinks.....

I do too, sad part is all i wanted was a perfect weapon, I could live with the rest crate or dungeon bag gear
