The "Exploit" has been fixed.

After testing several characters. It seems they finally fixed the "exploit" where you can enter exp on-bgs with exp off.

I tested the addon and the macro, and both still work, but once you enter the bg with exp off, you will automatically get teleported out, with deserter buff.

It was a fun rayne indeed.
 
Slightly mixed about this. It IS good news overall, however I think people may miss the slightly larger picture.

Don't get me wrong I am no saint. I have used the exploit in the past for the occasional game at quite a few different brackets, primarily cause there was zero BG's happening and I fancied doing one or two on a particular char just to use it and to blow rust away. Admittedly though it was very few and far between (hence I did very few but that is neither here nor there). Don't kid yourself, MANY people are using it and some are using it very frequently. I would class it's use overall as PREVALENT.

Now certain brackets never had activity but it kept some twinks in the loop with occasional xp on games. I just hope this does not stint the activity of twinks in some of the lesser populated brackets and further compound the problem. Although the MoP changes may be good I think there will be inactivity at first as everyone levels and tries the new content raids/scenarios/PvP etc...

Of course this could force more people to get involved and get organised to queue for planned xp-off games, which of course would be great for the community. The problem is that is a big IF. I just wonder whether activity in some brackets will drop further and maybe force those people to move to more populated brackets and twinking ends up as 15-19, 20-24 and 70-74 only....

Time will tell as always but I do not have a good feeling overall with the way twinking has been for a while, and is going....

We care because the issue is about people elevating themselves to a higher pedestal than others and by proxy ruining the game experience for other people. You can avoid these people by doing what you suggested but that is not an adequate solution to the problem. The problem will still exist because of the amount of players queuing in the 10-14 bracket with XP on. I wish players could police themselves on this one but after playing WoW for 7 years it's just not going to happen ever. By doing what I suggest above these players will have minimal impact on XP on BGs, but ultimately Blizz needs to deal with them.

There are kids out there that make hunters, turn off xp, gear them hardcore, face roll till lvl 15, delete and repeat the process. It literally takes 3 hours to make a faceroll lvl 10.
 
Are people who roll into 85 BGs with 5 Cataclysmic Geared "twinks" any less guilty that people that use the exploit?

No. In fact, a fully geared 85 is five times as strong as a fresh one. And these freshies don't even have the option to "level out" they just have to deal with it.

I think you should be spending less time in the showers with Sandusky at school and more time in class. Everyone in this thread is now more stupid for having read your post.
