The "alternative-language" music thread

Fry

Herping 'n derping
Hey there :D

Twinkinfo, over the years, has become a place where a lot of people from different countries hang out and discuss...
I wanted to take advantage of that multiculturalism and get to know songs you guys like from all over the world

I know english is the most common language used here, but maybe not for this thread :D

So you can post here any song that you think it's awesome, or good, or just that you need to share with the world. Music from movies, traditional music, popular, indie, anything!

Just no english lyrics please! At least not for the most part!

English translation (or subtitles) is ok.
Any genre is okay too.
It doesn't have to be from your original country.
It doesn't have to be popular.
Preferably not instrumental-only.

It can be an extinct language D:
Hell, it can even be a fantasy language like elvish or something, haha

Let's hear some yodeling in chinese or something! lol (jk jk, but it'd be cool :p)

This one is from a Spanish band, talking against the catholic church and encouraging people to be free from it.

This one is a multi-language opening of the anime "Ghost in the shell".

Last but not least, a song from an Uruguayan (?) band. It's about "being always the same" and not knowing what to do anymore :(

Ohhh Herr Mannelig is such a beautiful song, tho I had just heard this version from Haggard,
I am so glad you shared what I think it's the full, original version? I just like it tooo much <3 _ <3

Here's the mexican one, if anyone is interested x)

For everyone else, keep the songs coming! :D

:D Haggard! They sung it in Italian, heh.

That is awesome, haha. The song is an old Swedish ballad, so there's no "original" version, but Garmana are Swedish, so as close as you can get. :)

Do you like medievaly bands like Haggard? if so I have a loooooot of music to share. 8)

The anthem has good music, but as most anthems it's so martial. :/ But better than the German one. I don't have much against the music by Haydn except for the relative simplicity, but we never should have kept that stupid poem. I wish it was Brecht's children's hymn instead.

Here, one more but then sleep. ^^

personal favourite of mine

that song is so different from what I had heard :O what language is that? The song was really cool, no idea what they're saying but I wanna sing that, lol.

That was soooo beautiful *o*, thank you so much.
I wish I could "like" it, but TI won't let me y___y.

It reminds me to religious assemblies, and no, that's not an insult, lol. I am not sure if spiritual/devoted is the right word, but woah, he's singing with his heart. So free, so wonderful... I love the song.

Medieval is my second name  lol. Yesss, please share them alllll. I love Haggard c: I specially like songs that tell stories.

It's funny 'cause I had never listened to a song by Lhasa de Sela, but I like the music, I am gonna look up for more c: altho I am not a fan of no-singing, hmm is that called reciting? not sure :p

And what language is the last one? :O It's so relaxing c: is it talking about something water-y? like the sea?? I like it c:

Shows that music is universal. His best friend died, and he sings a joik. He described it as the joik coming to him. I feel for him it is sort of singing to his spirit / his friend singing through him.

EDIT: Whoops missed this. ^^

It's Māori! And yes, very much about water! :) Tangaroa is the god of the sea! But I don't understand much myself, only lived one year in NZ and learned very little Māori. :(

I don't often like reciting music (I'm just going to call it that, too, no idea if correct) either, but concerning Lhasa I like her voice and energy so much. And she also sang many more meleodic songs. So sad she passed away so young. :(

I'm going to post some of my favourite medieval music next then. :)
