Tattered Dreadmist Mantle Vrs Exquisite Sunderseer Mantle for 19 warlocks.

Im going to run through a few things here before we crunch the stats twice.

Tattered

3STA

3INT

5SPIRIT

6SP

Exquisite

5STA

6SP

3CRIT

5RESIL

Here is how I have always viewed my warlocks stats:

Stamina = 1

Spell power/shadow = 1

Int = .5

Spirit = .5

Crit = .5

Resil = .5

So using these stat points here are the two

Tattered = 13(14)

Exquisite = 15

I would like to mention I add 1 point to tattered for sex appeal, but even with that its a point short.

Looking at this we see that the exquisite sunderseer mantle is better but I would like to make a few points.

INT I'm going to go ahead and reduce this to .25 points per, life tap does wonders. I have been playing with just under 1k mana for a few months now and I have no trouble managing it.

5 resil (2.5 points) is only giving my character .35% reduced chance to crit, .77% reduced mana drain/crit damage and an additional .35% overall damage reduction. Though it is something I am going to reduce this stat to .25%.

Crit is useless in my opinion, at least 75% of my damage comes from my dots, so I'll be reducing this to .25%

Spirit I feel is the most overlooked warlock stat, for example just swapping between tattered to Exquisite my taps drop quite a bit. Going from 84 mana per tap with Tattered I drop to 76/77 per tap, that 7 or 8 mana lost per tap. I'm going to bump this up to .75 per point.

now we have the following stats

Tattered = 13.5

Exquisite = 13

So I guess this is how I justify keeping my Tattered Dreadmist Mantle on my warlock and it makes me happy to have some cool ass shoulders on.

What I want here is to see how other warlocks value there stat points, any constructive comments will be greatly appreciated. Any negative/hateful comments will be immediately ignored, Thanks from Çurves!

Ç alt code is ALT 0199 if you want to look me up on the armory.

its all a personnal choice here for a warlock.

if you only dot then CRIT and RES have strickly no reason to be.

whats left to check is 5 stam versus 3 stam and 3 int. oh and spirit as well.

crit as you said wont be used for your only using dots.

res, since the nerf, shouldn't even be considered.

to me it'd be tattered all the way...

but it all depends on if you prefer having more life and less mana.

thats all there is to your question.

tattered means more int so you wont have to life tap as often which will make up for some of the stam lost from using it instead of sunder seer, however imo it depends what glyph you are rolling with. If you're using glyph of life tap then tattered would probably come out top, whereas exquisite would probably be better if you're using glyph of corruption, otherise the stats are really very similar.

Imo, their about the same, get whichever you think looks the best/you got shards/emblems for.

Spirit=moar spellpower

No.

Also: Stam and resil are better than int and spirit on a lock. That's basically the trade of you're making. Spirit is just bad (does not give SP at 19, life tap increase is nominal), and stam is better than int, in that the extra mana from int is also gained by stam through life tap while stam also increases xp. The crit is irrelevant, frankly; Exquisite is CLEARLY the better choice for ANY build.

hye demonic!!! did u reroll or transfer to ruin yet??

and i prefer SK gear over emblem lock wise too, but my locks 80 now lol so thts not an issue.

Going to transfer with Milfish and Reshonek sometime soon probably. How about you?

blah... sacrificing life to get mana, is just fastening your descend into hell when fighting a lot of people...

hell, i guess a warlock doesn't fear that word...

A warlock needs some mana and having a slightly higher mana pool means the lock has to life tap less often, freeing up his GCD. Admittedly int isnt as useful as stam, but some is necessary

Im not really advocating one shoulder over the other tho.

Does no one use glyph of fear? :eek:

I have been considering giving this glyph a shot. The thing is it only increases damage when your target is ph33rd and most people will break your longest fear with there trinket (averaging about 1-2 seconds of fear) your second one usually lasts 4-5 seconds and the third is 2 seconds. This gives you a buff of 20% damage for 9-7 seconds assuming a priest didn't dispel any of them. All in all I want to try it first before I decide weather the damage boost is worthwhile. Insta shadow bolts for 150 damage are so awesome/fun though :)

Another thing to consider is the huge buff we will be receiving to drain soul with the next patch, the 20% boost there may be absolutely insane!
