Tanking and Threat

Do any guilds out there know how to hold aggro at level 1? We have had trouble establishing enough threat that the mob we are attacking will continue to attack the tank after receiving heals.



Anyone had any good experiences with tanking? I know you can hold aggro by just pulling and self heal spamming, but was wondering if there is another way (such as on a Warrior).

the best way is to have your tank be a healer ... shamans work best for this because of fast heals and a shield for mp5 (pally heals are slower and have a built in threat reduction)



if you use a rogue for tanking, you have to control your healers and when / how they heal ... if you take off a couple of pieces of your sta gear before you get into aggro range, put it on, aggro and use a bandage, you can get some quick heal aggro .... then use your lifeblood / agm before healers begin to heal will help you build up some threat ... but after any amount of time, unless you have several healers who heal in rotation (and run OOC when their threat is high), you will lose aggro because you will never hit enough to out aggro their heals.







the other way is to bounce aggro between ppl ... but it is always more trouble than its worth in my experience
 
Yeah - I'm actually happy with our current system. It works. I was just wondering if it was possible for a Warrior tank because I made one and he has 60% damage reduction and a heap of stam. Would be useful.





We are about equal with you at the moment,<KoL> - we are raiding weekly and progressing nicely.

It's too bad, healers just win the tanking game...

anyways. Lifeblood, potions and 1st aid helps a lot. IF you really want to gain a lot of threat you could have afriend duel you, leave you at 1hp, he goes to pull the mob and then you heal up with 1st aid. That will leave you with a nice amount of threat. The healer should not start healing until you've used your lifeblood etc and he should not spam heal you at 70-90% unless the mob is crazy.
