Survival Hunter twinks in The Legion?

I don't think we've discussed this yet, or know anything about it, but with the main weapon of survival hunters becoming a spear, will the entire spec change to a melee spec for all levels and if so, would we finally be able to use those Polearms and 2H-axes again.

Still got Trollbane on mine, wouldn't mind using it again!

If it does happen, would you be making a new survival hunter?
 
We don't know yet if it'll be 100% Melee or not. Not even sure how it'll effect sub 100's (where you can start your Artifact Weapon chain). Though if anything it'll be interesting to see how the changes effect Hunter play.

Actually we do know that the current plan is to make Survival a melee spec with pet, BM ranged with pet and MM ranged without pet.
 
He said hunter is getting a revamp from its foundations so expect the no pet marskmanship and melee survival to be a thing from level 10

No we don't, we know only the few little tidbits of what they said nearly 1 year prior to when Legion will hit live servers. Anything can change between now and then. SV Hunters may only be partially Melee, they may change their minds entirely after Beta is open, who knows.
 
Survival Hunters will be a melee class with pet going forward.
Beast Mastery Hunters will fight at range with a pet.
Marksmanship Hunters will fight at range with no pet.

Absolutely nothing is set in stone until it's Live, hell even then they sometimes revert changes in hotfixes. Them saying SV will be Melee this early in the timeline means literally nothing. We've had Blizzard say they're going to do X 1-2 months from now, then 1-2 months pass by and they change their minds and do Y. Lest we forget that a Blue post said there will never be flying again in future WoW then literally 1 week later they changed their minds to the current Pathfinder concept. Any person who claims they know exactly what Blizzard is doing with anything regarding WoW might want to get their head checked.

Sadly all of this is entirely irrelevant unless you think that the OP was looking for definite facts straight from the future and not information on the current situation, in which case you need to get your head checked.

Maybe Wing Clip will make a comeback!!!

It is quite funny though. Over 1/2 of each expansion is spent speculating what the next expansion will bring. Kek..

I don't see them changing this one.. in patch 1.1-1.3 Survival was also primarily Melee.. altho people didnt use it that way, that is how the talents were set up.. everything was close range .. obviously you DID use your ranged stuff.. but it was mixed with melee..

You and Arkant can quote Blue posts all day long it doesn't mean it won't change. Like I said before a BLUE POST said we would NEVER have flying ever again in future WoW and ONE WEEK later Blizzard changed their mind. Just because you don't think they'll change their minds on this particular topic doesn't mean they won't, therefore my original comment is 100% valid, we just don't know.

Hah I remember having that 2H sword from Duskwood that you could put Savagery on (cause it was ilvl 35+) and going around melee-ing warriors with Aspect of the Monkey on, that was pretty fun.

If it does come back I'm definitely going to look for some good weapons, though I doubt anything would be based on weapon damage anymore, since Blizzard seems to have killed that. Just stats stats stats, however, there is no 2H agility Heirloom besides staves is there?

On what assumptions? :p

I don't even know what type of abilities we get, will it be like the old raptor strike, based on weapon damage or will it just be based on AP like everything else. Maybe Stamina is a more important stat for Survival in the Legion than it is now. Maybe we'll even get mana (I doubt that but still.)
 
Two-Handed Melee Weapons aren't used very often. But with Demon Hunters they have a high chance of comeback. Tuning up the Hunter class to Also become melee is kind of a bit main stream since we already have a up coming melee class Named Hunter. So yeah kinda Hard to speculate.
 
bliz has said that survival will get a "deathgrip of sorts" that will act like scorpions "get over here" move where they use their harpoon to impale somebody and pull them into mele range.

This alone could have a huge effect on the meta for many twink brackets.
