The key is to find a pet with the most abilities at level 20 - for Survival you can't get the Spirit Beasts (technically) but it also depends on if you are PVE or PVP or a mix.
Tenacity has the health buff - Endurance Training, but you would need a second ability like what the Riverbeasts as example bring
slow down a mob/player healing as much as possible.
Spore Bat are Cunning which does provide a movement boost with Pathfinding - do not get their next higher ability until level 28 and thus it only other special ability is 'Spore Cloud' removing 1 Disease, Magic, and Poison effect from itself.
Yet with for example Waterfowl which is another Tenacity pet also have 'Endurance Training' as well as an 'Oiled Feathers' which is like Spore Cloud in removing 1 Disease, Magic, and Poison effect from itself.
Before the leech nerf, Survival used Ferocity hunter pets for Predator's Thirst and used like the Wasp for its Toxic Sting - which is like 'Mortal Wounds' that is meant to lessen the target's ability to heal (like the Gruesome Bite of the Riverbeasts).
If >= level 20 - you can find more hunter pets that fit your play-style.

Is that slow still in the game and why do no hunters use it? From what I remember druids couldn’t shift out of the slow.
The class isn't represented all that well atm, besides ppl with shiny gear. That slow can be a game changer when needed but yet sooooo many ppl ignore. How many even know about roar of sac... lol
