Right, correct. I'm saying Pizza saying that "Proxies will be provided" implies everyone is going to turn it on in June, and I'm trying to say that unless it's being proactively utilized in the months leading up, it won't much matter.

I will concede you don't need to run all your traffic through a VPN, I was trying to point out that you won't have "300ms" ping if you do (you didn't say that, Willix did) I do have a VPN subscription for the last year, and I play games through it all the time. Before you ask, no, I did not do it to avoid DDOS lol.

Agreed, to make proper use of those free proxies all participants with static IPs would have to contact their ISP for a new address prior to the tournament.

The point being, that a VPN is not the be-all, end-all of avoiding being DDOSed. Especially considering that anyone who knows what they're doing could obtain IPs without direct access through skype or w/e. It's cool that a company is willing to sponsor a major twinking event like this with free VPN access, but it's really not a solution to a much larger problem (cheating in competitive gaming/dishonesty even amongst skilled players). I don't see this event happening without someone being DDOSed.
