Hey guys, I am new to the Shadowlands meta.

Wondering if you can point me to threads, links or tips about what I should do for my toons before my sub runs out on my main account.

Are there ways I can unlock dungeon access, or gear stuff, etc.

Thanks.

who is your 20 twink? provide armory link please:

besides the obvious:

  1. turn on exp
  2. stock up on consumables

the most important thing is that you gear your toon correctly as you don't want to waste a month to re-gear.

[doublepost=1616962548,1616962053][/doublepost]As for dungeon access, the main thing is that you're able to use Chromie Time and queue dungeons, which wouldn't be available on a full f2p account. Other than that you will unlock every dungeon you need for socketed gear by simply levelling normally. Keep in mind though that some dungeons won't have an option to queue, but you may still access them. To do so, just walk to their respective entrances like the old times. Depending on your class, you might need Shadow Labyrinths and Shattered Halls for example, both being unqueuable instances.

Other than stocking up on consumables and using your access to AH/trading to level professions easier, its not as big a deal as it used to be.

As a rule, I like to have 3-5 gear sets worth of enchants and gems, too. If any big gearing changes happen, itll keep you from having to re-sub just because blizzard is like "you know what? nerf the ilvl 28s" or some shit.

Okay, is there a standard way of grouping for this?

the old fashioned way. talk to ppl.
be extra mindful of potential exp gain for an hr or 2 after your sub ends, as the common faqs thread explains.
it happens all too often.

quoting this for emphasis.

once your sub ends, back all the way out. Quit the game, quit Bnet client. Entirely. Then go for a walk, watch a movie, eat a meal, something... let it simmer for an hour or two. And then come back and get your pvp on.

killing a small test mob outside your capitol is the best test.
don't trust things like not being able to check mail, and don't think that just because 1 char is ok all your others will be too. it's wonky.

Obsidium and elementium ore, and volatiles for engineering if youre going for dragonling. Farming that, even with easy access to the zones, is painstakingly long and dangerous.

If you've got a jewelcrafter, go to outland and get some steady talasites. They're good for all classes.

Other than that get some ilvl 28s with sockets.

These are the three things that are annoying to do at 20.

Edit: readability

Hello, pretty new to this. So, my game time is ending soon, and after some discussion with a GM about a bug regarding experience elimination, i got this message:

"I was able to enable XP again however keep in mind that your character will accrue XP and store it. Once you add game time and log into this character, it will automatically level and we won't be able to reverse this. To prevent that, you'd have to disable XP again before adding gametime." (Also, this might be useful for others that find themselves in my position later, ATM i got my exp locked on my lv 20 char.)

My questions is, and if anybody can answer me it would be very much appreciated: Considering i deactivated my experience right before adding game time, is it safe to enable it before game time ends to prevent the previous experience lock bug, or should i wait for my sub to expire and see from there ?
