Store items /save gold to buy a token as F2P

He means farm something while f2p then buy sub and sell it on AH.

Essence focuser, gnarled ash staff, other classic/tbc/wotlk blues. These should be the most realistic farms you can do.
 
There are a lot of ways to store gold when you dont have a sub active, no matter what proffesion you have.
Inscription? Make cards of omen from war paints and try to Gamble for the 6k gold card;
Engineering? Blingtron 4000 has some pretty valuable junk, also cogwheel parts from garrison can be turned into ranged enchants that sell for a pretty penny,also elementium roses;
Alchemy? Primal Might, Living Steel, arcanite and other valuable transmutes;
Heck, garrison and order hall are gold printing Machines if you know what to do with them. Last, bit not least, elixir of tongues from New Dalaran is currently the best way to store excess gold (due to high buy price per item, sell back is also high, and it stacks to 200).

Those are rookie numbers though. He wants to store hundreds of thousands not thousands. And elixir of tongues is a pretty terrible return, unless you max out on other stuff. The only reason its good for is taking less bag space and not being gold capped, but theres many items with a better gold return rate.

Elixir of tongues gets better return when you have max rep with Kirin Tor,the buy price its lowered but the sell value remains the same. Regarding other items, can you give some examples please?

so u can stack cata mining mats and spirits of harmony in the reagant tabs as well. Those are way more worth to stack than stacking elixer of tongues as it doesn't eat up your bag space . 1 spirit = avg 300g at auction and can stack to 200. So about 6k gold per stack.
elixir of tongues not worth it to stack other than than making room to clear the gold cap / free up inventory.
If you are going to do big farming use different characters to stack up the reagent tab with different mats that way you save big on bag space.
You can also keep lockboxes in inventory to sell or open.
1 epic tert socket legion item takes forever to get but is worth millions.
1 epic socket ring is also worth millions if u get the right one.

Just an fyi, if you do get up a bunch of stuff to sell for token and your account is a vet account, you can usually submit a ticket to a gm and kindly ask for a couple of days to try out wow to see if you want to return or tell them you have enough stuff to sell for a token and they will give you 2-3 days if you havent asked for it in a year at least. You can then sell your stuff and buy tokens.

you need items that you can sell in a day or so, transmog items take months to sell for example, and I doubt even the socketed legion items mentioned above the worth millions can be sold this fast. Motes of Harmony? there are 800 of them on my server right now according to UJ. I think the strategy should be to get a large variety of materials and various things so that you can sell enough of those in 1-2 days you have
 
Farm chests for highly sought-after gear & stockpile it till you pick up a sub.
Beware: if you are true F2P, that toon's banked XP will ding them, likely up to 30, when you log on them after subbing.
