Staying Power

  • Do you think this bracket has staying power? If Blizz raises f2p accounts to lvl 40 or 60 would this bracket die out completely?

A lot of people would want to move on to a higher level with good reason, but I'd mind needing to get BiS, professions, etc all over again. If anything, I'd consider making an entire new character and keep my current toon in the 20-24 bracket but I don't want to look that far ahead.

it would be dead as dead can be. I dont understand why more people dont play in this bracket though. This is honestly the closest thing to what twinking was back in the day. The next closest thing is lvling from 10+ in BG's using full heirlooms

Cata pvp at 85 and me never got along. I did arena for 2.5 seasons and while had some success this last season was GG for me. I doubt I'll ever play at max level again. I do enjoy this bracket and gearing while a semi pain is not overly hard. Finding BIS enchants on the other hand.. I noticed an ad at the top of this forums that RIFT is now f2p till level 20. Since i did not make it past lvl 8 before I uninstalled that game i don't think I will take offer.

They would not raise the level cap to 20. But i could see a F2p system after you buy the Original WoW in the near future (if more and more subs keep dropping).

There are a lot of things that Blizz could have done to improve the quality of the game, but everytime they try, they take the longest and most frustrating (to the players) way of doing it, and it's all for money. Wow could have been a great game for few more years, but they have made quite the pretty penny in dragging the game along another year by adding new things (that should have been in the game since the beginning) like the quest tracker/quest helper, the LFG and LFR features.

But Blizz will let the game get to it's death bed before doing anything to improve it, Starcraft, Diablo 1 and 2 are proof of that... sadly, the improvements won't be anything powerful enough to revive the game and bring more people. They're milking WoW for everything before they kill it for beef. Sometimes playing this game feels like watching a man being strangled to death by a midget that's strapped to his back.

It is possible that the level cap could be increased for f2p but we can only hope, to answer op's question though, this bracket would die. the only reason anyone at all plays in this bracket is for trials, this bracket did have a little life back in the day but that changed completely after f2p was announced. Since then it has become one of the most active (if not the most active) bracket in wow and will most likely stay that way for a while.

It would probably die. The only thing about this bracket that's like old twinking is the killing people that are far more undergeared than you. It's one thing to do it from a 20 perspective. When I made a 24 it was ludicrous. The bracket would definitely die. Most of the people who play this bracket at 24 don't care about having a challenging game (or at least one where they don't have an advantage). I'm sure there would be people that would start playing at 44 or something though?

24s are as close to oldschool 29s as you can get, and for that I love them. Unfortunately the community is 99% shit players and children. I hope one day thats not the case but its doubtful

    agreed.

and on a sidenote: wasn't twinking invented to be faceroll?

I don't know about invented for that purpose, but twinking goes all the way back to the Olympics in the earliest days of Greece. Competitors drank "magic potions" and ate specially prepared lizard meat because they thought it would give them an edge. If nothing else, they believed in eating buff food, lol.

It would def die. If they raised the cap I would not follow. The higher you get the more burst there is until you reach the gemming/resil brackets. God I hate burst..........

Do you mean the community represted here on TI or the bracket in general.

It seems like the biggest issues lie in that silent majorty of 20s. The random people who are bumbling around on both sides causing aggrivation but carring the queue pops.

For the most part a twinked 24 is just as bad as a well played F2P hunter.

I guess that people just get frustrated and lash out at who is available, which are the posters here on both sides of the fence.

By the way, I used to play in the BC era 29s bracket hordeside, definitley some fun games then pre- XP off bgs.
