Hey guys,

For these 2 classes, what would the priority of crit, haste , vers etc be?

Many thanks!

Not sure any of these are set in stone as of yet, or will ever be - as they depend on your playstyles and goals. In general verse increases damage, healing, and reduces incoming damage and is never a bad idea - especially in pugs where you're often going to be the best FC. Haste is usually pretty decent for casters with reduced cast times, reduced GCDs, and faster HoTs/DoTs. Crit only gives 150% dmg instead of PVE's 200% - but its still good burst. For coordinated team play with a boomkin, I'd imagine crit starsurges/starfire could be super helpful when focusing down a called out target.

https://xpoff.com/threads/deceptionsz-19-twink-resto-shaman-8-01-guide.79156/ has some good discussion for the resto shaman.

If you choose to go haste, you won't be stacking pure haste. My shaman sits at 11.4% haste because it reduces the cast time of my heal by a total of .2 (making it 1.3). The next break point for a cast reduction is generally going to require me to get more haste than is worth while, so instead i try to build up other things.

*Edit: at 14.62% haste i reduce lightning bolt to 1.7 sec. Can't get lower without dropping back to 1.8 sec Lightning bolt. Might be worth getting to if you intend to play a more offensive based "resto" shaman since resto has higher damage than ele lol
Also, you have to decide if .1 sec is worth the ~3% stats you're putting into it. Otherwise Versatility or crit is likely to be better with those bonus stats (or int since i'm using a haste trinket to get there).

I thought haste breakpoints weren't a thing anymore? Which breakpoints are you talking about?

Not the traditional term breakpoint as it was when I used to play throughout vanilla-Wotlk. I meant break points as in reductions in cast times (as i believe you're correct about breakpoints as they were usually known not being relevant anymore)

Just easier calling it a breakpoint instead of calling it "a reduction in cast time" heh
