EU+US Some questions since I'm considering getting back into tinking

I heard that because of the ilvl change twinking was dead, but it seems like it's actually made it more interesting, so I was thinking about giving it a go again. It's technically been before xp off for me, though I dabbled a bit during xp off since I had 29 and 39 twinks anyway. I just had a few questions:

1. In general would it not take an extreme amount of time to start a twink from scratch? I get that making one and transfering to Bleeding Hollow is probably the best bet but personally I'd be exceedingly wary of spending money on anything other than a subscription/expansion in this game. Also you can apparently queue for dungeons with xp off so couldn't you technically gear up over time anyway? I'm assuming the issue is getting twink enchants on Bleeding Hollow's AH and such...

2. Do more people do bg's or arena? It seems like arena would alleviate some of the queue times but I was used to certain times to queue as a twink anyway.

The ilvl change wont happen before Legion and I doubt it will kill tinking.

If you have a main it's pretty easy to gear a tink. Usually only takes a few hours. And even if you don't have a main, I'm sure it wont be that much of a problem.

Obviously you would have a hard time acquiring the expensive BoE's, but afaik you don't need too many of those @29.
 
There are tons of alternative items that are close to being BiS, like a stat or 2 off that you can easily get without having a main or tons of gold. when it comes to the chants try begging :)
 
Legion pre-patch will definitely apply the new changes to PvP gear etc. and the PvP talents as well. Date for that is 8/30/16 according to Blizz. So until then you can enjoy the game as it is now.

New PvP talents won't apply below 100 as far as I know and PvP trinkets like the old blue 60 ilvl insignia's most likely won't be available with the new changes since everyone gets "Every Man For Themselves" (or whatever the new equivalent will be) in their general spellbook or something. Which makes the trinkets obsolete and Blizzard will probably just make them into unequipable untradeable grey quality junk like they love to do.

Will be interesting to see how twinking turns out come Legion for sure. I'll probably get sub back for a last taste of how the game is now pre-pre-patch.

Afaik trinkets will only be useless in PvP, so they might not turn gray.

And I'm pretty sure people who had alpha access mentioned that, upon entering an instanced PvP zone, you learn the Trinket PvP talent automatically
 
Got an XP on AV pop for the 30 minutes I was leveling my 20 warrior to 29. Legion is about to be dope
 
On the beta trinkets are only being greyed out during bg's. Every toon gains the ability "Honorable Medallion" which is basically a trinket. Racials can still be used in bg's and human trink shares a 30sec cooldown with medallion. There aren't any pvp vendors in sw and it isn't allowing us to copy our accounts so no idea what is happening to current insignia trinkets.

O. I just randomly queued while leveling my guy. It felt the same as xp off

So humans basically have double trinket?... As if they weren't OP enough at endgame already

And btw, do you learn the honorable medallion upon entering instanced PvP for the first time?

Seems you relearn it each time you enter. I didnt have the ability before the bg but didnt check my spellbook after either; ill do that this afternoon. Human will be a strong choice but so will nelf/belf/tauren with meld and interrupts

edit: oh endgame definitely
