Solo Deadmines?

Has anyone (19) soloed Deadmines?

I got as far as Mr. Smite with 0 deaths on my 19 rogue. You have to be careful, but it is really not that hard. Patrols coming up from behind were the only issue up to Smite.

As for getting past Mr. Smite, I am stumped. Pulling him or either of his companions results in battling all three. Perhaps if you can sap one and get lucky on procs / hits / crits while blowing all of your cooldowns, maybe you can get past him.

I suspect that a pally or rogue have the best shot.

Any thoughts or experiences to share?

I wouldnt mind trying it on my shaman, a perfectly geared 19 shaman , i.e Hat, 2 AGMs would be able to quite easily make it to VC at the very least I would think, blowing all Cd's could take him out in my opinion.

I'l Give it a go later

Ive done it as a 19 rogue, the way to get past smite is to die twice. All you do is the first time around kill his adds, and die. The second time around you kill the adds at the top of the stairs, and die (or if you cleared every mob prior to Smite then skip that stage). Then you have smite on his own, i stood at the top of the stairs with my back against the wall, so when he stuns, it had already broken by the time he was half way back to me. Or you can just run back towards the start direction if you cleared prior, and just kill him that way when hes alone.

I did everything but vancleef on my lock. No hat or AGM though, AGM would probably have made vancleef possible. I got his adds down, but then he summoned new ones and I was dead meat :x

Most of the run was just really boring, the fun starts at the boat really with Smite and the messy pulls.

Yeah, having the Hat and AGM would definitely make things alot easier for you.

This would basically be ALOT easier with a class that has healing ability. and obviously an ability to output DPS, i.e perfect for a shaman.

Shamans can do extremely nice dmg, whilst staying alive with their heals, combined with AGM and stoneclaw totem protect if you have the glyph I can't see a shaman having any trouble with VC.

You may even want to look into wearing an Mp5 Based gear set and trying that to keep your mana up, but honestly I couldnt see a shaman having too much difficulty soloing VC.

draenei hunter, herb, agm, bandaging pet...should be no prob.

without a wipe seems impossible tbh.

ye soloed vc on my rogue twink the day it hit but its soft do something more challenging solo... ive been soloing wc alot recently getting spare gear and watnot alot harder imo some bosses @ least such as 1st, pythas, skum runs away like a humaniod which i found out the hard way ><

Any Class with a Decent amount of HP, and the ability to put out DPS, WITH lifeblood would be able to run it, like if they are a non healer class.

rogue , hunter , warrior, with Lifeblood and Agm would roll it I would think.

Im not sure how a mage would go soloing VC, They would need to stack HP have an agm and lifeblood, but in the process of stacking HP I would think they would lack the Spellpower to do enough damage to take things down quick enough to take a few mobs at once.

A priest with a balanced Spellpower HP/Int set would go alright, The only problem would be damage I would think. They could last for a LONG time keeping themselves alive, but damage would be an issue.

I would also like to see how a paladin would cope soloing VC, whether they would roll in a Ret Set, with a decent amount of healing , I dont know enough about paladins.

I Doubt a Druid would go to well soloing through to the very end of VC, they have no ability to output enough dps, sure they could be useful as a tank with a few more people, or a healer, but soloing would be out of the question I think, Druids Prove me Wrong if you think otherwise.

I still maintain this would be Cake for a geared shaman with Lifeblood ;)

Try to solo some BFD trash if you really want a challenge. I was able to get pretty far and managed to get a treebark jacket to drop. I've been trying to attempt SFK but i can never get in! ("additional instances....")

Ahhh nice, gotta be pretty happy with that.

Having the TBJ drop while testing a solo run of BFD haha.

Ive farmed for that before, for SO long haha.

Kinda makes me wonder if loot like this (even shadowfang) has an improved drop rate if low levels run dugeons that they normal shouldn't be able to? I am sure there is no empirical evidence either way. I mean maybe these items have such a low drop rate because it is normally high levels characters are providing runs to low levels. But what if a bunch of low levels just started soloing SFK?

Only way to tell is to look at the drop rate of rare loot since wow started, is it dropping more frequently or less frequently (ie are people 5 manning these dugeons like when wow first started or are they getting runs from 70's or 80's)

Not sure if this makes sense?

a bit OT, i solo'd the wingblade quest on my rogue. No herb/agm, although lady anacondra was evil (surrounded by 4 elite raptors) I ended up pulling one at a time, but their shriek called the other 3 and her - so i died 4 times :S. It's alot of fun to me to solo bosses and instances. And with the horribad queues (till i get to ruin) i'll be in WC and VC, RFC (heh)

double post :D

it makes sense to me. I forgot where i heard that, but i remember that drop rates scale with level. Although you can run more times on your 80, you have a better chance on your lower levels. Seems like it balances out though, longer run time, higher drop rate, as opposed to short run time, low drop rate.
