Sleeping.

Hi tinks, I recently had lots of trouble to fall asleep in the past couple weeks. Yesterday I thought to myself "maybe its cause I go to bed to late..." so I just went to bed early and fell asleep relatively quickly. However, I woke up 2 hours later and never managed to go to sleep. Now I really have no idea of what to do since I can never fall asleep at reasonable hours. Feel free to share your stories/tricks/tips about sleeeeeeepiiiiiiiiiin

Edit: Sorry if what I wrote above isnt written properly or does not make too much sense... Ill let you guess why

I usually put on some chill music when i have troubles falling asleep.

I get sleepy after I eat so if I can't fall asleep I eat something small and then I go to sleep 20-30 min later.

take a 5 hour energy before u go to bed

Have an active day .

I've been diagnosed with insomnia for quite a while now. I've tried various methods to "treat" it and see if anything at all could possible help me fall asleep much easier, so I wouldn't be completely exhausted when I awoke for work/college or whatever.

Despite being prescribed numerous sleeping and other medication, I decided I wanted to try and let my body sleep naturally since when you take sleeping pills and the like, your body can become dependent on them to rest.

I now use 3 various methods to fall asleep easy, without using medication. They are: exercise, smoking a decent amount of weed and passing out, or listen to peaceful music in bed.

Goodluck man, hope you're alright.

if you take showers before bed, what i like to do is:

- do 2 sets of 10 pullups, and maybe some leglifts/squats, doesn't really matter (just enough that you're sweating the ever so slightest bit)

- take a shower

- eat a tortilla with barbecue sauce (something small but substantial)

- Rainy Mood and listen to a really slow acoustic song.

a few things:

-drink water more often, not to the point where you're sick of it, just whenever u can, this makes you feel better all around.

- try not to eat sugary things before bed, spiking your blood sugar and letting it drop while you're asleep reduces the amount of REM sleep you get (or so im told).

- CONSISTENCY, waking up around the same time and trying to go to bed around the same time can really help, the brain loves routine. If you really stick with it your body will forgive you when you break the routine for a day or two as long as you get back into it. (i am absolutely terrible about this, and I pay for it daily)

= D

Thanks for all the great repplies tinks. After trying a few of your tips and tricks, ive gotten the best results with execising. I managed to get 7 hours of sleep in a row last night just by going to the gym a few hours before going to bed. It still took me a while to fall asleep, but still worked better than anything else. However, I cannot go to the gym everyday so Imma try a few other tricks that I havent done yet, like taking a shower before beddd timeee

Anyways, thanks again for the help tinks and keep postin dem good tips if you have some more

White Noise has been the biggest help for me. A fan particularly but sometimes having a radio on a station that doesnt have anything playing and turned really low (barley able to hear it). I also sleep best when there is nothing to distract me, as in turn off everything but my fan/white noise and have my room as dark as possible. I hope this helps

Train regularely, so you're body is really tired once comming home. Taking a HOT shower allso helps, since it helps your muscles relax.

Be active and make yourself tired by the end of the day.
Smoke a joint before bed.

And if your lack of sleep is anxiety related, you've gotta figure out what you can do to change shit in your life.

So many people suggest getting high, When I use to smoke I hated falling asleep after getting high cause I felt it was a waste of a good relax, thus a waste of money haha, whats the point of sleeping off the feeling you paid for. Guess if sleep is that important to ya

I used to have the same problem and thought I had insomnia and was a weirdo or something that couldn't sleep. That was until I went to college. All those thoughts vaporized from my head rather quickly. Now its more that I don't get enough sleep and can usually fall asleep in the most random places for a quick nap like in a class, or a public bus or something
