Since when can we loot skull mobs?

I could have sworn during pre patch I couldn't loot anything 10 or more levels above my character, even if I solo'd it. I distinctly remember trying this when I was still Item level 45+ at level 10/11 as I wanted to see what I could solo and I could not loot anything that was a skull.

Yet now I seem to be able to loot mobs in Nazmir at level 15.

Is this new or am I just losing my mind?

iirc, every now and again a skull mob is lootable. Like a rare, weird little glitch. Im not 100% on that though.

You can loot skull leveled creatures. Had my fair share of hell trying to farm Cataclysm mats by killing 30 lvled mobs. And that was like 6 months ago.

You can loot up to 10 levels on your level, Nazmir is level 25 and youre level 15.

That may explain it. They are still skulls to me, but are precicely 10 levels higher.

When I was killing mobs here in pre patch, I was only 10/11, so more than 10 levels then.

Good to know, nice to have an option to farm somewhere when I want more of a challenge.
