Okay so I'm really enjoying playing my 29 Ret Paladin, metalSLAMZ in BGs and skirmishes, and already tried Prot a bit, which was less than thrilling (but gonna try again, no doubt), but I've seen some good stuff with Holy Paladins @ 29, so figured I'd try my hand at one. So here's metalSHOCKZ

My primary idea is to be a sort of 'ShadowPaladin' going for mostly damage, and off-healz, and maybe FC. I saw that many Holy Pallys are equipping the cloth heirlooms, and since I already had them, that's how things are going so far, as you'll see. I have not yet gotten rings and whatnot...not being a healer (never in my 5 years of WoWing have I played a healz...), I haven't run any dungeons yet, but going to soon. I guess I'll get Healbot addon and go for it.

So anyways, I'd like to get advice from more experienced Holy Paladins. Shouldn't I get the Mail Intellect gear if possible (more armor = greater survivability...)? Talk to me! What enchants, in general...
 
Okay, first, yeah get PLATE heirlooms, no reason to use cloth, thats a lot more damage you'd be taking from melees, 2, use pursuit of justice, you will never use ur holy power reallistically, so it's a free 30% passive movement speed instead of 45% on a 8? Second cooldown, while wasting a GCD, so you should switch whenever, and if ur going pure shockadin, I think you should go full intellect after u hit 4k or so health, since ur a human, if u got double intellect trinkets, use those, I'm not sure if you can get movement speed intellect boots (like the leather boots on my druid), but best choice would be to enchant boar's speed on whatever boots u use. Shockadins can be amazingly fun, and even if you've never played a healer, it isn't a hard class to heal others with :p I used to be a shockadin/prot pally on my 24, haven't leveled him though so.

Thanks! Good stuff... Are there plate looms with Int, other than the shoulders (Pristine Lightforge Spaulders - Item - World of Warcraft
and what about glyphs?
 
Holy Sucks abandon all hope a ret pally with a shield and an off hand will outheal you and outdamage you. Trust me its not worth it.
 
You can gear very similarly to a resto shaman. Many heals choose the cloth boa helm because of the haste.

Holy paladin isn't trash lol, ret pally is obly good for 1 reason, burden of guilt, without that they have no gap closers and almost and of the hybrid classes would easily 1v1 and beat a ret pally, but holy paladin isn't bad cause i seen some1 spam 600+ denounces and was #2 dmg and #1 heals when there were 3-4 other 29s in bg, so.
