You could also make a guild and have a toon in said guild with full JC unlocks. Then inspect their profession on different leveled toons through guild interface. Should show scaled number

so here’s the problem... we have no idea. The wowhead beta site is scuffed for JC with some expansion gems showing single digit stats, some showing like 140 stats.
you could probably get a decent idea by creating a handful from every xpac. And of course meta gems from tbc and wrath. In all honesty though, you know as much about it as i do.

So here is a Lv. 43 Boomstick and a Lv. 48 Boomstick. The difference is literally 1 damage.
On a side note, look at the next 3 photos, this is sickening, if you look at the difference between a Lv. 169, 194 + socketed, and 214 Boughs of the archdruid, you'll see no difference, literally, i can't believe they are killing off the 101 bracket
Lastly, here are 2 cloaks, one being lv. 15 with 80 corrupt resist and a lv. 6 cloak with 20.

use them now before SL .. i uses them all the time because i play mostly hunters .. i have at least 100 of these unequiped yet .. dont think i will finish using them before SL .. will try to as many as i can .. as for the 101, the only hope is they will do something about it .. they cant just "kill it off" .. are you able to bring to their attention while you are in SL beta ? thats what beta is for isnt it ? like telling them something aint right in the game and they adjusted it before the release

I’m trying to understand better here.
Based on the boomstick example (which I’m not really an expert outside of 20s) it would seem that in SL, items will return to their native level requirement, however it might seem that items that were higher scaled in BFA will retain better stats once the squish hits.
My question would be then: would a retail bfa lv 60 version of say, BwB or the fang set (which is the scaling ceiling for these items) have better stats in SL post squish than the lv 19 or 20 versions we know from our brackets (and be useable at f2p/ vet level, assuming lv10)
If this is in the wrong section or just an incorrect assumption sorry lol

Bankone, the problem with comparing boomstick to an item like bwb or fang is that they scale by level. I don’t think they would have anything special when scaled down. On the other hand there is the stuff like the world drop epics and blues that scale by 5lvls at a time and sometimes scale oddly (like the level 48 i58, which has the same ilvl as the level 58 version).
Would like to see epic high level scaled item maybe. Like a high level foamspittle. Then if you have stuff like high ilvl world drop blues, X5, X0 level ending world drops would like to see too.

I would want to want to test the difference between lv 60 vs lv 20:

- Epic Silvermoon /foam 60 vs 20
- Magefist (kicking myself for vendoring my lv60 scaled version) 60 vs 20(i28) vs 20(OG i23)
- Fang 60 vs 20(i26) vs OG (i21)
- Repeat that for any dungeon rares like mindthrust 60 vs 20 vs OG

To echo @zazzyfraz 's observations, there also a one item level difference (28 vs. 29). That contradicts the idea that Blizzard is removing the old scaling and then re-scaling for Shadowlands. Might you have two versions of the same BoE, scaled farther apart, that you could check? Maybe Blizz is double-scaling after all.

All of these are lv. 98-100 as follows:
98 / 99 Dethrogg, are 39 on beta
99 Welded with socket 39 on beta
99 vastly oversized ring 39 on beta
99 serinne's 39 on beta
99 boughs 39 on beta
99 cynos 39 on beta
100 welded 40 on beta
100 cainen 40 on beta
100 serinne's 40 on beta
with the 98 / 99 not changing in stats (i looked at them, i don't think i took a photo as there was no point, it was literally the same as the other), it'll be the same in SL as one another.
