Shadowlands, and is lvl 10 the new optimal twink level?

Hey everyone, ive seen the shadowlands information, and its very possible this will be a crazy time for twinking. They say we can choose in which expansion we want to quest, and start questing and doing pvp at lvl 10.

This could mean we will get very different types of twinks. And its up to a lot of research to determine which expansion is optimal for BIS... my guess would be Legion twinks... or BFA... however TBC has some wild socketed gear aswell. And WoD has loads of rares that can proc epic gear... so its hard to say atm... it could even be WotLK , Cata or MOP...

I hope they allow people with turned off Exp to quest with chromie... and perhaps even allow 10s to quest in all 7 expansions hopefully..., and i do hope we get full excess to the expansions. Including rep rewards from all quarter masters and order hall, garrison.. etc etc... its gonna be awesome to see so many unique and different twinks, and funny enough.. lvl 10 twinking will have wayy more depth than the gearing system at max lvl... because they allow us to use Nearly all old content lol.
Perhaps we also get excess to BoE epics that drop in the world etc.. corruption gear from bfa.. legendaries from Legion.. and both arrifacts from legion and bfa possibly... these are wild times lol... i cant wait to play it, and i hope the fun police wont come to spoil the show.

I was watching some videos on the alpha and from what I am hearing DH and DK can be made at level 1 for any race and start at level 8 for vet accounts. This will certainly shake up the bracket wherever it ends up. As per gear it could be that starter edition ends on or right after the new starter island which would be very restrictive. One thing is it might mean getting game time on your 10s would then allow you to start farming from a crap ton of gear sources and hugely widen the gap between pure f2p and vet. Either way its looking very exciting I'm just worried the new PVP brackets might be weird.

Maximum level in the lowest pvp bracket will be best probably, so that could possibly be lvl 19 again and f2p ppl will get recked by those twinks if they remain lvl 10... but anyways.. we will have to wait and see.
Im really sad for my 15 year old 19 hunter that will be stuck at lvl 9..... i had full double WF prelegion gear lol.. and all the rest

you're assuming xp-off and xp-on ques will be combined again. The whole reason vet/f2p twinks work is that they're capped by starter account restrictions and not by artificially capping their xp

To many things that are totally unclear right now.
- f2p/vets arent in same q as xplocked atm, will they change that?
- are we even gonna have the same brackets? Will it be 10-14, 10-19 or will they go full mongo and do 10-50 or some shit?

The only thing that is like 100% certain for me is that f2p will have access to bgs because its a major part of the game that they want f2ps to be able to test. And therefore it most likely will be lvl 10 cap. Everything else would surprise me.
Bracket range is hard to guess because I can´t really see them splitting into x4 and x9 brackets again because that would kinda counter the squish. On the other hand, talent/spell gap between x9 and the lower levels is kinda huge due to the new "every level grants you a reward" agenda. Will see...
Doubt there will be a merge for f2p cap and xp locked.

Best thing for f2p would probably be lvl 10 anyways because it only has wsg and ab available. If the bracket also gets rid of the fucked up random q you could actually have MOP back in terms of activity.

I meant that 10-19 will be "the same bracket", as in lvl 10's and 19's will face each other.

Unless they re-merge queues, only 19s we'll be facing as 10s will be levelers (assuming the brackets are still x0-x9.)

This is true, it's a lot of assumptions.

However, I feel like a full on 10-59 bracket would be insane, because having access to basically all spells to your class versus only having a few is pretty huge. It's gonna be a way bigger gap than the old 10's vs 19's then.

The idea behind that is that every BG will have scaling similar to Korrak's Revenge, and that Korrak's Revenge was just them dipping their toes in the water.

All speculation, but I feel like if every BG scaled like Korrak's, the power difference would be smaller than if the brackets operate how they do now and only change every 10 levels.

If they don't do 10-50, then my guess is that they change brackets to be every 4 levels again.

Interesting reading ur thoughts... whatever the case may be, there will most likely be Alot to twink this expansion ^^ and thus making the community much more active again hopefully.. and probably. Cant wait for new info on the alpha once people can transfer low lvl toons there.
