Just picked up one of these guys for a few gold and was wondering how rare they were in classic? I remember seeing some hype regarding them and their rarity on here maybe a year or 2 ago, as well as the other Ulda drops such as Pod etc.

still looks to be bis if using mithril slugs ammo.

I was always told they are hard to come by, yet have seen them throughout p1/p2. That might change later on as people buy these items out/run Ulda less
 
Why? They aren't so much better than https://classic.wowhead.com/item=13138/the-silencer if even at all. 2.9 vs 2.8?

It was a prestige thing in my experience, having one back then. Now everyone can get one because we knew going in.

edit- some joker just started posting twink items at a ridiculous (for current market) price, I just lol as they don't sell.

Shadowfangs, vendettas, assasins blades, etc... all been up since launch and no one is buying. One thing I haven't seen at all yet is a PoD tho… not a singel one. Very disappointed in that reality of my lesser server choice. :oops:

Anyone who's really going to make a twink already has their stuff. This isn't the clueless classic of old.

Regarding the economy and such I have to disagree with you for a few reasons. Pretty much every twink has unicorn items that are nearly impossible for most people to 'snipe' for cheap. These items will always in demand and prices will only trend upwards on them. To take an extreme example, do you think a PoD will ever go down in value? This means that there is also a market for runner up BiS items too, for those who aren't as concerned with high cost minor upgrades, which makes for a healthy low lvl economy.

The other aspect to think about is who has prepped twinks vs the number that are yet to begin. I think that ratio is way way lower than you are implying, and once bgs drop I expect more and more folks to pile on the wagon.

I would consider Bushmaster a high cost minor upgrade over he Silencer. You always want the absolute slowest ranged weapon you can get on a hunter because A) you want the most time possible in between autos and B) you want highest single shot / aimed shot burst.

Bis is bis my guy. At one point, shadowfang was hardly worth it either but this is a tink forum and there will always be a market.

On another note, anyone see a jackhammer since classic? Seen a few PoDs around my serv

I always look for it and haven't seen one.
[doublepost=1574788383,1574783746][/doublepost]Oh yeah in case anyone was wondering, one reason they were so godly was because their stats got a huge upgrade after they revised the dungeons (end of BC?), and it didn't appear to be able to drop anymore, just like the PoD.

The other aspect to think about is how many of those BiS-seekers that have yet to do ANYTHING to prepare are going to be... on my server? I mean I could buy them on the assumption I could realm transfer at some point, but again - why?

There's so many assumptions about so much that has yet to and all too likely wont happen. My safest assumption is that just about anyone going to twink anything to BiS has already done so... or isn't going to. Especially on low-pop servers.

edit- except of course things like PoD. Those you buy no matter what. I don't see these being those.
 
Think what you like. I get tells from ppl fiending for BiS items I've posted all the time. You think all the 29 rogues/hunters have 9/9 helms and Vendettas/Mantle of Thieves? Or perfect shadow/healing gear for locks and priests? With the announcement that WSG is just around the corner folks are ramping up and most haven't even made the toon much less acquired the gear. But hey, if you don't want to snap up those Bushmasters for 15g more power to ya lol.

To many, an argument could be made that the silencer is "better" but even so it's still really really good in comparison.

Neither. I bought it on the AH for piddly cuz it's not that rare anymore. Sound familiar?

edit- do you see that you're putting a value on something according to conditions 15 years ago? This isn't 2004...

Well i'm not, so again... why the hell would I buy all of them? I got one if I decide to use it. The rest is speculation (or sponsorship). It's not like I just pass on everything I don't think is "worth" it - I get everything I will likely use, or at worst know I can flip for something I will. Those simply just don't fall into that category in 2019 WoW classic, IMO.

Ok if im wrong, im not in it for more than gearing me. I just need one - mission accomplished.

Well those who aimed to twink from the start probably do, I know I do for 5 chars across 4 brackets and I didn't start stocking up til over a month in.

You started a month ago and have BiS for 5 toons? What are your rarest finds?

I only went for what I needed but I have:
Full 19 priest, Hunter & rogue BiS including 2x Shadowfang 1x Assassins blade, 4/4 monkey, 3/3 wranglers
Full 29 BiS Sword & Dagger Rogue including thieves and forest tracker, 2x 5/4 monkey, 5/4 tiger, thunderbrow, zealot, butcher, vendetta and claw etc
Full 39 Rogue BiS

Plus about 15 assorted twink items mostly for 19 bracket

Edit:: I started collecting them a month into release as that's when I started playing, most bought within the last month as I was still getting mount gold etc before then
 
Wow nice, sounds like some lucky finds. I've got alot done too but Unearthed Bear Bands for my buddy's shammy just aren't happening.
