I had a boe drop from a chest so I don't think this is true. It was I believe the Black Malice mace. I just don't think that chests provide any special % chance at the boe's either, it basically the same looting a boss or anything else except that you get some mats and a chance a seemingly improved chance at recipe's and whatnot.
 
I know when i started farm i was curious what gear dropped for people and on what run. So i thought i'd share my farming experience so far.

25 G Axe
28 M Mantle
46 G Axe
49 Shadowfang
67 Blackfang
70 G Axe
72 Shadowfang
80 Black Malice
84 Shadowfang
85 Mindthrust
96 Black Malice
101 Ring of Defense
104 Peashooter
110 Black Malice
112 Shadowfang and Twisted Enchanters staff.

I am currently on 116 and have not seen a Gloomshroud yet. But i will keep trying!
 
Currently just finished my 60th run.

So far have gotten:
6 Mindthrust Bracers
1 Gloomshroud Armor
2 G Axes
1 Black Malice
1 Face Smasher
1 Redbeards Crest
1 Witching Staff

I am on run 243 in a little over a week and i have not seen a Gloomshroud yet. I am starting to think its my addon and im becoming superstitious of my looting/killing areas. Can you share with me off who your gloomshroud dropped and how you do your runs?

I got the gloomshroud drop off of one of the undead npc (i forget which one) in the large room right as you enter before Lord Walden. My killing method is that I BoS on my rogue @ 100 throughout the instance individually killing each npc. (because i heard a rumor that if you AoE it reduces drop chance of blues and such)
 
I've done 51 runs.

Run 2: Shadowfang
Run 23: Face smasher
Run 41: Shadowfang and Guillotine Axe
Run: 44: Shadowfang
Run 51: Mindthrust Bracers

Psst. I was farming for mindthrust and now I'm done.

Well guys, pretty sad my droprate for Shadowfang...82 runs in total, but no shadowfang, 7mtb, 2 duskbringer, 1xlynx, 4xwitching staff...and then there were run 76 and 77. hilarious: 2 runs, first gloom from a horse, second one again from a horse, i was really like wtf... ^^
Awesome RNG...but sf doesn't wanna drop -.-

Wait, you are whining about 7 mtb + 2x gloomshroud drops? You realize you could probably buy 5-10 shadowfangs with the gold you get from selling those...

GSA is like 60k. MTB are like 5k. That's 155k. SFs are like 30k ish each.
 
Well, the mtb cost 210g/each on our server and yes the 2 gsa drops in 5 minutes was just unbelievable! :)
 
There must have happened something with the drop rate i think, 3-4 weeks ago, i drop on circa every 6-7th. run a rare Item like mtb or face smasher. Since 6 days, nearly every second run drops something, just ridicilous

I would have to disagree. I get 1 blue every 15-20 runs. I am on run 319 in under 2 weeks and i have not had a gloomshroud drop

Nearing on 200-250ish runs now (I would estimate - I have not been counting.

Drops so far:-

3x Nightreaver
2x Assassins Blade
7x Face Smashers
7x Mage Thrust Bracers
4x Black Malice
1x Witching Stave
1x Shadowfang
1x Gloomshroud

Looking for that last shadowfang.
