What is so weird about this? Doesn't every country keep track of accidents for preventing them in the future and or how to solve such issues? To measure this you keep data of accidents, that doesn't sound so weird to me. Our country has alot of bikers as you can see, measures like this take place on every level and is very much needed and the reason we have to expand laws on how to prevent deaths. It is what our smart country does, the same with healthy food being cheaper then junk food, having no gun policy, equal rights between man and woman, gay people, discrimination, a grey zone for cannabis and so on. It is more or less addapting to its situation and trying to prevent more deaths on a yearly base and making things worse.

For me this is common sence, for people not living in the Netherlands and or owning a bike sure I can understand that this sounds weird but very much needed here. I love bikes, I actually have 5.

I suppose most will not even kow that the Netherlands also have bike streets? take a loot at this: http://en.routeplanner.fietsersbond.nl/ (Press "LF en Knooppunten" to see the many bike street routes on the map we have, not everything is listed though). All the green and red stripes are bike routes/streets.

You did not mentioned it no, but context is and so are the question marks. It simply says that it is not normal to you and not mentioning making this thread which points to you thinking this is something not normal aka weird.
The in the US has bicycle lanes too my friend as do many other the New World countries.

Lanes and streets are not the same. There is nothing to compare to what we have. Yet you try to, so funny.

So what has this to do with our country having a better infrastructure for bikes then yours? (it is what you are trying to aim at) To show that you actually have something similar too? It is so much worse in your country.

Even in the rural areas,where I live , some of the roads have lanes dedicated for cyclists.

I never said you didn't have those but then again this is just a defensive move of yours to counter what you think is an agressive move against your findings just like the one above.

Our ratio of humans to bicycles is not more than 1:1 though. That is the part that I found quite interesting.

Common sense and old news.

And to keep to data on an accident on a bicycle. At what point does a bicycle accident become an accident. When a child falls off of it and scrapes the knee or when another cyclist collides with another? We just don't keep bicycle to bicycle collision data like that here. We have way way too many people. The logistics would be enourmous.

Noone keeps data on people falling from their bikes and or even call it an accident (yes in the litteral sence it is an accident but not a traffic accident where this obviously points to and your country registers those too). You exactly know what I am talking about anyway just trying to make some sort of discussion with irrelevant things, it is really nothing new. You just try to be smart. But you are not :)
