Rogue: What point is crit better than agility?

I'm seeing a lot of very good rogues building glass cannon and stacking agility like mad, but at what point is crit better than agility on an item? From my limited testing, I've found that ele force procs are a huge portion of rouge damage, and crit is the way to increase that damage (haste also plays a roll in ele force damage, if I recall. Something about increasing rppm?)

Let's say for example you have a ring that gives 10 agility and a ring that gives 8 agility and x crit. What would you say x needs to be In order for ring two to be better than ring one?

This might be really basic info, my apologies if it is, I've only ever really played or twinked casters in my 10 years of playing WoW. xD

It's all up to personal preference an example if an item has 9 agility but another item has 8 but 4 crit. It's up to your preference if the 4 crit > 1 agility.

1 agility no biggie but 2 more agility may be a deal breaker for most since in wod. 1 agility= 1 attack power. 3.5 attack power = 1 point of damage. So 2 agility almost more than half of 1 point of weapon damage. So if your not stacking crit no reason to start now unless most of your gear reflects a hybrid set.

Very cool. Appreciate the info.

because Attack Power now contributes more significantly to weapon damage - 1 DPS per 3.5 AP, which is a pretty significant increase from MOP 1 DPS per 14 AP. Sorry for confusion thanks for correcting that.

Tough question! I agree with personal preference but there must be a limit. Maybe before diminishing returns? Is DR still a thing? I compared 10 agility to 25 crit a while back ago and found agility to be a better increase of dps. More consistent for sure. Recently, however, I've been scratching agility for haste though.

I just did a bunch of testing at level 1 training dummies in Theramore and pretty much reached the same concision.

What were your findings with haste?

Sorry I left you hanging with this thread. Haste is difficult because it's always paired with crit. I've tried to test a few things out, and this is what I prefer. Dps margins are so low here, it really breaks down to personal preference. But this is mine.

▪9 haste > 1 agility. Seems obvious...
▪2 agility < 6 haste & 6 crit. Again, pretty obvious.
▪4 agility < 4 haste & 4 crit.

Four agility scales to 10 attack power, where I do prefer a stronger ambush, but haste is important to me outside of stealth. Combat is just too slow.

The last stat was obtained by switching between Cape of the Black Barron and Glowing Lizardscale Cloak. Stamina does have a weight in my opinion, but only ever so slightly.

Finally, this next stat contradicts my statement above, but this just how I feel...

▪4 agility > 4 haste & 4 crit.

This was measured by switching between 2 x Shadowfang and 2 x Mass of McGowan. Shadowfang showed a bigger ambush on the tooltip (a difference of 9 damage) dispite being a faster weapon. The haste increase didn't compensate for the slower weapon speed, which was only a difference of 0.05. Faster swings feel better, which is why I'll be sticking with the Shadowfangs.

Hope this helps!
