Rogue Weps

Hey all, some good threads here, glad to find this site



I am currently working on another twink, this time a rogue. I have the boa dagger from badges and bloodrazor atm. I was wondering if these weps are good for 49 bracket as hemo spec or are there better?



Also, is hemo the best build right now?

sub is the best spec atm. i would say thrash blade is best MH and possibly bloodrazor OH, or wsg dagger or the sword from brd just for poison procs and stat boots. Hemo is best with a good slow MH with high damage...and general consenses is that thrash>blood.

dagger is meh at best for MH...just lower damage. if you wanna use a dagger go widowmaker or another high damage dagger and just do ambush/evis.

Hrm, Bloodrazor has the same attack speed as thrash as well as a higher top-end and min, so I don't see how thrash is better as MH. Also, thrash procs will cause you to gain an extra attack from your MH, IE, bloodrazor which will be a higher damaging attack due to it's higher top-end/average damage and can also cause it to proc...

well i dont think thrash will break CC afaik, but the bleed form bloodrazor will (yea its rare but you never know when it'll proc and mess up that gouge/blind/etc.) and the extra damage proc from thrash makes it superior damage wise i think...at least thats what i see all the twink rogues using for a sword in their MH, and not for lack of money. the damage and dps is negated by that extra proc, again only from what i've seen the serious twinks using. it must be good otherwise more ppl would be using blood imo.

Lol I never looked at that, I was only arguing vs the top end damage and attack speed when saying that thrash will do more on an SS vs Blood.

well yea top end and dps is more on bloodrazor. but between procs i think thrash takes it, and it must be better b/c all the twink rogues use it > blood which speaks for itself.

Bloodrazor = uncontrollable bleed which is a big nono for rogues.



And the proc on thrash won't break your CC since when you use gouge/blind you stop your attack.

Lol I see so many nub rogues with BR then. That's funny, I had completely forgot about that with the proc. Though it's about the same as me using Kang with repentance, I dunno how many times that's f-d me over -_-. I still can't find a cleaver though.

yea the proc can bone you sometimes even though its a pretty low PPM.

using it doesnt necessarily make a rogue a nub, but i think it's been shown that thrash is better. not to mention thrash is completely free, and bloodrazor can be very expensive depending on how ur servers economy is

Looks like I will probably use thrash MH and blood OH unless I find a better OH. I stay on a shittastic server with very very poor AH so good boes are hard to come by.



One more question, what enchants are people using now? Does goose still work for 49s?

if you already have the bloodrazor i would recommend selling it. it is waay to slow to be a useful OH, get the WSG reward dagger, doomforged straightedge, or some other quick dagger/sword/mace that will also boost ur stats. i would go mongoose MH, yes it is still the best, and either +20 agility on OH or double mongoose if you really want it. the static 20 agility will probably outweigh the occasional mongoose proc from the OH

As doomforged straightedge is a little difficult to find at times, might I suggest one of these few options for an OH if you're going for swords. I'm not sure which spec you're running, but if you're running sword specialization then all of these are nice options with a quick enough attack speed to proc poisons better. he wont be getting sword spec if he's goin sub, which is the preferred rogue spec atm, so might as well just get a dagger like the wsg reward since its fast and has stats

Thrash Blade main / Doomforged Straighedge offhand, hands down no questions asked for a sword rogue. But why would anyone not go full sub with a dagger in main for Prep and Premed. Ambushes will be insane with pumped agility. I leveled through this bracket with my sub spec rogue and nothing could touch me. I am currently making a Arms spec warrior with TB and DFS combo as mentioned above.

premed ambush evis (aka 2 shot spec) can be effective, but its very situational and quite frankly looked down upon as noobish.

in that case, get widowmaker or wsg dagger and do +7 or 9 or w/e the highest damage enchant is on it in MH and go doomforged in OH.

I realise the bleed can screw over my CC but I don't think I ever had a problem with that (yet). For now I prefer higher burst from bloodrazor's top end damage.



Though mostly its because I'm too lazy to enchant my thrash blade.



And I use shadowblade in OH and yes I know its terrible and I'm better off with a stat stick like DFSE but again, it works for me and I don't plan to stay in this bracket forever (mostly farming AB rep).

DFSE is tough as hell to find from my experience. I think I've seen it once on my server's AH, dunno about yours. If you don't plan on staying long, better off not worrying about it like you said. Though, you could have saved a couple bucks just enchanting thrash blade.

IMO [ITEM]Thrash Blade[/ITEM] in MH , [ITEM]Shadowblade[/ITEM] OH.

Then when you stealth, switch to [ITEM]Gut Ripper[/ITEM] In MH, and [ITEM]Doomforged Straightedge[/ITEM] In OH.

if you're going combat just go with thrash MH and Doomforged OH.

In my opinion, [item]Bloodrazor[/item] isn't very good as the DOT proc is likely to break stuns.
