Rogue Hit Cap

Just thought I'd share, Been playing around with my gear on my rogue today then I realised that I am indeed hit capped at just 7 hit rating, leaving many gearslots open for choice! :cool:
 
7 hit rating is incorrect. However as I said in a different post hit rating scaling and expertise scaling have changed this patch.

After this patch 1hit rating now gives 0.5043% hit. This means that to reach the cap of 5% you need 10 hit rating and for a horde to cap versus NE's (7%) they will now need 14 hit rating. However I don't know if the spell and ranged hit formula have also changed. (notice this change is only for low lvl at lvl 80 the cap is still the same amount of hit rating).



As for expertise you now get 2.02 expertise from 1 expertise rating. So the fang set which gives 4expertise rating used to give 7expertise now gives 8 expertise. And the combination of 3xFang + nimble leather gloves now gives 16expertise instead of 15. (it now possible to get 18expertise by using 3parts fang and foreman's gloves).

Pretty sure it's 9. They gain more hit from rating than melee.

Edit: 10 gives 5.91% hit - so to gain 5% hit cap you need indeed 9 hit rating.

No, its still 7 for casters afaik. It used to be 7 to cap against racial resistances as a caster, but those racials changed to actually be resistance rather than miss %

Indeed - Meaning 9 hit rating is the hit cap (and since Spell Penetration isn't obtain @ this bracket, you get f**ked by racials) :p

Edit: (Hit is now 4% cap - Meaning 7 hit rating as mentioned by Kore)

Dwarf Warrior VS Frost mage.



19 from racial.

13 from shield

12 from rings

5 from cape.



That adds up to 49 resistance ... quite a lot, 70% dmg reduction?
 
Just made a few calculatiosn using my armory and found that for spells casts (4% miss if I am not mistaken) you will need 6.77 or rounded 7 hit rating.

I don't know if this changed or is the same as it used to be as I hardly play on my mage twink.



My guess is that the OP looked at the wrong hit when checking his stats.

Spell is indeed 4%. You get 0.59% per rating. You need 7 rating to cap



Melee is 5%. You get 0.504% per rating thus you need 10 to cap

Wait why is snowing so good ? - It's been snowing here for days and it's pissin me off :<
 
I belive blizzard is fucking me about or something.. have logged on today to find my hitcap is now 10, must be a bug of some sort, sorry for the misunderstanding
