Rogue Help

Its funny, I havent played 19s in ages yet still know that every single poster in this thread above me is incorrect.

There's something called patches btw...

Anyways, if you haven't played in ages, then you're not a reliable source of information. Get out of this thread.

I havent played the 19 bracket in ages, that doesnt mean I havent played the game in ages. One thing that doesnt change over time is simple math. Im not trying to say what all is viable as far as rogues in warsong gulch goes, part of not playing in forever means that I dont know exactly how badly they were hurt by things like aspect of cheetah, travel form, etc. I assume they were seriously compromised as far as their contributions to a premade.

Regardless, like I said math doesnt change. Stinging Viper will always be bad. More hit rating will always be better. Yes this includes going above your self-imposed cap of 11/15. One thing that none of you are mentioning is that white hits make up a large portion of a rogues damage in 19. Contrary to popular belief, 5% is NOT the hit cap for attacks. Five percent is the hit cap for SPECIAL ATTACKS. Normal attacks (while dual-wielding) miss roughly 25% of the time.

we all know this. there is a PvP cap too to consider fyi. Also, kore has a lengthy and very accurate thread stickied about it. For any other class I would give you a nod on it not changing that much, but it is dramatically different now. Old school rogues and current rogues are so different, the gearing has changed too.

I read the thread that was stickied, at least part of it. I didnt see any mention of the inherent increased miss chance from dual-wielding. It was all about the mythical '11/15 hit rating hit cap' that isnt really a hit cap at all. I have about 125k hks on twink rogues, 19, 29, and 39, I promise I know rogue. The things Ive been talking about are the kind of things that dont change over time. Theyre not dependent on what class has gotten buffs (unless theyre hit buffs), its just basic rogue knowledge that people havent really talked about at all in this thread. More hit will ALWAYS be better for 19s.

Somewhat along those lines, I definitely laugh out loud at all the subtlety rogues out there. Here's a pretty simple thought process: Rogues have been dramatically weakened in 19s the last few patches, due to other classes getting speed-increasing buffs while rogues have no 19 slows, nor distract. Along those lines, obviously rogues should be less of a threat now than ever. So what is the exact thing you SHOULDNT do??? Spend most of your talent points towards rogue duels, which really mean absolutely nothing to good players.

Finally, lol@rogues who use bows (even boa bows) over throat piercers. Hi, this is the bracket where hunters have cheetah and rogues dont have a slow. Throwing weapons >>>>>>>>> Bows

it doesnt take long to switch to tp dude. Subtelty spec is cause some of us like arena alot and I do enjoy a good RvR. Expertise has only been mainstreamed recently, hit rating too. Rogue's are still popular too and we are definitely not a lesser threat. Proc dmg now is higher than agi dmg was back in the day (it always was), since it is pointless to stack agility, everyone rolls it and rogues hit hard w/out combat spec, some people still have it though. NO CLASS CAN DO AS MUCH DMG IN SUCH A SHORT AMT. OF TIME. /endofdiscussion

O I dont by any means think a rogue is worthless, dont misunderstand. They just obviously need strong partners/support in arena/wsg situations, where it used to be they needed no one to be effective.

In regards to the TP comment, thats just silly, and if you know much about rogues you should realize it. Weapon swapping refreshes the swing timer, meaning you cant immediately switch to TP and use them anyway. The entire benefit of TP is the initial cast time of 1.5 seconds vs 2.5 seconds for a bow. Swapping to TP then using them is a complete waste

That's why you roll with TP and switch to the bow when you need it. Not the other way around.

I crit pretty regulary for around 120 on my Venom Strike, so it's a pretty usefull weapon. I use it for finishing off that pesky mage who you can get close to.
