it's really really easy to gear a rogue for serious play these days:
must haves (strictly bis for serious gear sets)
2x SF
Throat Piercers
LFH
Leggings of the Fang
Footpads of the Fang
WSG Neck
WSG Ring
AGM+Inherited Insiga (if you're human, use a 2nd AGM)
-> that's 10/17 slots already without even thinking once
getting hitcapped
Stained Shadowcraft
Spidersilk Drape
Deviate Scale Belt
-> 13/17 and still only obvious choices
Expertise/Faction Rewards
2nd Ring: Simple Pearl (mandatory for hordes in WSG and a damn good choice if you don't want to take any risks for both factions in arena), Seal of Wrynn (obvious WSG choice for alliance), Seal of Sylvanas (obvious choice for horde when not fighting Nelfs)
Gloves+Chest
you want the 3 piece Fang Bonus, so for alliance the only viable choice is
Tunic of Westfall + Gloves of the Fang
for horde it's a tad more complicated, you basically have 2 choices
Blackened Defias Armor + Gloves of the Fang
Armor of the Fang + Nimble Leather Gloves
it basically comes down to:
3 stam + 5 agi + 1 str vs. + 4 expertise Rating
pretty damn close and it depends on what classes you're fighting, but imo lowering the impact of RNG on your important choices is better than a small stam/crit boost.
so we're at 16/17, horde rogues have to make 1 single choice when gearing for competitive play, and the only item left are bracers
FLB or 3/3 monkey, doesn't matter, won't make or break your build!
list of enchants:
weapons: 2x Fiery
cloak +3agi or +stealth
chest + 4 stats
bracers +9 stam
Gloves +15 agi
Boots +minor speed
