logging on to answer a couple more pms. my username on PoE is Pyke - to avoid any more future questions involving that
tried gw2 in the past - it's not bad but I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of content once i hit 80. leveled purely via pvp so i had no clue what was going on with the lore. might try it again eventually, heard there's a new expansion coming out soon.
the ban itself was for botting - and with the amount of gold i had i never would have considered buying any. i did, however, sell gold for PayPal $ and other things (items from bnet store, unmerged accounts, etc.)
might seem strange, yeah, but twinks tend to not play much endgame so there is almost always a demand for gold.
i would rather take a horribly unbalanced bracket than what the 20-29 bracket currently is - most specifically, queue times, as i often had to wait in 30+ min queues at the time that i bg (usually around 3am EST). queues in cata and MoP were 5 mins top for wsg at that time.
on top of that, pretty much all notable f2p have upgraded to vet and those who have remained as f2p are not competitive whatsoever (outside of disc priest and druids). i will admit that i do prefer av at this level to the endgame version, yet outside of that i do not see many redeeming factors for this bracket at the moment.
the faction balance is another issue - horde have been winning 80% of the matches that i've been in recently, leading even me - an alliance solo queuer - to xfer, as well as many of my friends. the amount of 29s and vets currently plaguing this bracket makes f2p a hindrance to your teams, and alliance tends to have far more undergeared f2p than horde does in this expansion. this same faction balance did exist in MoP though, so that's nothing new, yet in combination with vet accounts staying f2p is pretty much pointless at the moment.
due to even just the queue times, i would never be able to tolerate bloodthirsty farming in this bracket if i had to do it again as a pure f2p. 10-19 xp on, as scummy as it is, is by far the fastest hk method outside of endgame and with instant queues + horrid class balance it almost felt like MoP f2p again - was actually enjoying myself for once.
i have a feeling that our opinions on this subject differ due to that you have not been involved with most f2p communities from what i know (you've always been p2p 20 right?) yet as someone who has played both f2p and vet extensively - more so than anyone else on US - I'd honestly say that this is the worst that the bracket has ever been. feel free to disagree with me but that's an opinion that myself and many other previously-prominent members of the bracket share.
thanks for the good luck - would have loved to discuss this with you more in game, yet that won't happen for obvious reasons. looking forward to spending my time more wisely now - got so much stuff to catch up on after playing WoW hardcore for the past few weeks.
haha, yup - gave everything that i had left to riptides so you can hit him up if you need mtb or funding on horde. glad that your account is still safe - going to miss talking with you, gl on dark souls if you haven't completed it yet.

But then again 20-29 is broken beyond repair atm..
You could try out gw2. It's a fun game and the pvp seems fairly balanced from what i've sern so far.
Also you only have to buy the game once and then it's f2p forever

Yes Petyr I have played as a Starter on AP. Back in 2011 in fact. Got "the Hollowed" title before it was granfathered. The thing about WoW, as with any addictive item, is you have to take it in moderation. I fear many here do not heed that advice.

Then they went up again when the HUGE ban wave of Honorbuddy hit a few weeks ago due to lack of supply. I speculate they may be going up yet again on servers with large twink populations due to the fact that the start of the TC is quite literally days away. And there is yet again another surge in demand. But then again, what do I know...
