Rift Character Thread.

I just encountered a F2P restriction: can't put items on AH to sell (spending $5 in the cash shop will unlock AH selling)

Buying from AH is unrestricted

There is also a gold cap on F2Ps, i haven't encountered it yet so not sure how high it is (i'm at around 5 gold right now)

If this is not wow but rift I would really want this thread moved to the proper section the tittle is annoying :D lol

Not everything is done to your liking. Also it is in this forum so all of our F2P friends can see it.

Aye i miss playing rift, only stopped because it was lonely QQ

from what i can remember the dot caster builds were lots of fun if you could maintain a nice spread of dots on the enemy team.

You're the only annoying thing on this forum.

Reinstall it. Better than wow

I'm on necropolis. Played at launch, but my crap PC couldn't handle the large scale invasions.
Game play is NOT like WoW. Went 10 levels barely doing a single quest over the last couple days.

Just go kill rifts/PvP. Tada! No stupid "fetch 10 bear asses" quests.

And necropolis has a pretty high pop from what I can see. Much busier than CRZ Goldshire.

Explanation of Free-to-Play account types, Patron status, and Founder benefits. : Rift

As a returning player I was very confused about what exactly I could get by spending real $$ and how to get it. These two links helped me make sense of everything.
This knowledgebase article (https://support.trionworlds.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1597/kw/RIFT%20Account%20Types%20and%20Restrictions) lists in-game restrictions for different account types (guest, registered, registered w/ loyalty, and patron). You can get to 1500 loyalty by spending $5 on the lowest credit package in the Rift store.
This FAQ (RIFT® | Free-to-Play) 2] lists what exactly Patron status grants, what you get when buying the base game, and what you get for buying Storm Legion. Some further notes on that:
  • The base game can be had for $10 or less on various game key websites, or possibly less if you are lucky enough to find a box in-store since the original is so old now.
  • When buying Storm Legion, there are editions that include the base game as well. 'Combo Pack' and 'Infinity Edition' are the two types known to me that contain the base game.
  • Any edition you buy that includes extras in-game items still rewards those items. Includes Original game Digital Collector's Edition and Storm Legion: Infinity Edition, possibly others.
  • Storm Legion: Infinity Edition grants 60 days of Patron status according to my account page.
  • You don't want to buy a Storm Legion key unless it can be had for less than $18 or so, which is about how much the Storm Legion souls cost through the RIFT store by buying with credits. The new souls are the onlything buying a Storm Legion key grants you (unless of course you are buying the Infinity Edition or a combo pack w/ the original game).
