Retri Paladin?

Hey

I been playing my warrior for quite a time now and I would like to try a paladin.

Two questions

1. Is retri even viable? I know that prot is op and blah blah but I like the coolness of retri . :p

2. Could some one link either a chardev or a armory of a more or less BiS retri paladin?

This is no where near BiS, please don't follow this.

I'd help you out, but I don't have a clue about most of the BiS pieces either.

There is actually no BIS. You will have to ask yourself first how do you want to play. Offensive or defensive? You also might end up to a 50 -50 offensive defensive play style or 30% defensive and 70% offensive. Also where do you want to excel BGs arena or duels?

Being offensive is generally fun but when you will meet an opponent with 900+ resilience then you will understand the power of defensive builds. Take a look at this char and just ignore the shield and weapon only the armor. Seogorath @ Twilight's Hammer - Game - World of Warcraft

Defensive as ret? If you're gonna stack resi as ret u might as well quit, you will never get a kill in arena above 2k, and unlike prot, you don't get the vengeance buff (everytime you take damage, 5% of that damage is turned into attack power), you're going to naturally want around 400 resi to stop you from getting zerged in periods of cc, but going above 500 is scilly. Second of all, you will never meet someone in arena with 900+ resi as first of all that's pretty much impossible to get (you'de have to be putting resi in meta slots) and that'd be over the cap anyways.

Of course there is a BiS, the BiS would be the gear that gets u most benificient stats. Lmfao @ defensive retri pala, not gonna happen. Are u one of those sad resi stacking prot palas with holy weapons?

There is no cap ... resilience has changed and it is not as it is used to be.

For Gihipoxu:

- Most benificient stats is a subjective issue.

- I agree that a resilience stacking ret is fail but after all ret pala now is fail in any form.

- I have several PvP gear sets depending on situation.

- I am not a prot pala that only uses full brutal set and yes prot pala is sad because it is pretty easy beating anything except from hard to kill shamans/druds and mages

Refs are fail in any for? 6 wins at 2.4k mmr? In fact ret has superseded prot in wvery way now; repentance, stun and rebuke, and the new chance for Templars not to consume holy power not to mention sacred shooed makes ret an extremely viable spec and a true force to be reckoned with, yes prot is still strong but such little variety, and no cc to work with. Plus if you get high rating as prot expect people to try and flame about how faceroll is.

Well bout the stats I haven't played my pala since 3.3.5 except for some lk raids so I don't know whats best but im guessing str is boss. Or resi if u need survivability.

There is always a best way, personal preference is jk, deviating from the best way always results in lower performance.

prot has stun, and all specs now have rebuke.

and who cares if people flame you for "facerolling"

Imo im thinking about playing really offensive because I got a brother that will be my private healer :D Kinda noobish I know but hey atleast im not prot :D and thnx for answers guys :)

I play retribution paladin myself. Ret is much more viable in 4.0.6 after introduction of sacred shield and change in talent 'Divine Purpose'. I prefer ret over prot because it has much more mobility. I like fact that I can get rid of snares by using cleanse, and also repentance has become handy in many situations. In hands of a good player ret is amazing.

Also I see ret really viable in arena. Best choice of setup would probably be something among Ret & mage/rogue/dpriest/enha shaman
