Ret Pally question

It took me about 5h to do that quest line but I got foremans leggings in 5 min. Rng is random.

Questing is easier for me to pull off, instances irritate the wife as I can't just hop up and help out with the baby.

That and RNG is great when it's not giving you the "of the monkey" tumu cloak again and again

Scales. All day, every day. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool.

@riv... I would take them for prot too, and use a gold plated buckler until I found a redbeards crest. http://us.battle.net...acoholic/simple

Can you please explain this a bit more please? I am new to pallys and I don't follow why.

It makes sense to consider the pants and the shield together because you cant have both, but Redbearr's loses 3 stam and 110 armor. When you factor in the pants(foreman's vs scales), you only gain and extra 66 armor with the shield but that still seems like a lot at this level. In total stam is a wash, so it is really a trade between (66 armor and 7 str) vs. (7 int and 7 crit). I just dont see the int factoring in much, and the strength seems to outweigh the crit. Am I missing something about the value of int?

And all this assumes that you get a Rebeard's, which I don't think is farmable (am I wrong on this?). The next best option probably is the gold plated, which means you lose an extra 109 armor--as well and losing 3 strength and gaining only 2 stam.

What is it about the pants that you think really sets them apart for (1) prot and (2) ret?

i'm wondering why people choose to go prot? i always thought it was just gimping yourself i mean you get some HP but lose the amazing holy shock and no WoG cd... but then again you can do dps w/o casting and w/ casting but still isnt holy better?

because prot is the best at making people really angry

Firstly, strength is better than crit. It just is. Int is nice if you can get it, but strength is better. You'll heal for more with strength. You'll hit harder per hit. Everything hits harder with strength. Int adds mana and spell crit, that's it. Crit adds melee and spell crit, but your crit % will still be junk.

Not only is Redbeard's farmable, I found it to be one of the more common drops. I got it several times in Stocks and from the chests.

You'll heal for more with strength.

Hey Aradiel, could you please explain this part.

I tought that you get only 30% of your AP as spellpower which effects your healing (holy light/word of glory).

And i dont see another source for increased healing out of Sheath of Light (Crusade not counted because it has

no effect for int vs. strength).

So on the paper 7 int heals more than 7 strength for a ret.

btw: Is there any source for the exact calculation formula of e.g. holy damage??

Cheers

Actually, intellect does add SP. My mistake. I thought it was a SP or AP% whichever was highest, that's exorcism only.
