Hey, so i get cata very late, find out my shaman is crap as ele, regear for enhance and join WSG.... I see NO ret paladins and a shit ton of prot/hoyl paladins raping everythings face.

is ret still as viable as it used to be, or has it been drowned out by its 2 talent tree counter parts?

- Thanks.

Atm Kore and a few of selected people are working towards fixing low level pvp so that things balance out. Atm Holy Paladins and Prot Paladins offer the best DPS/Heals/FC. Ret Paladins atm is not > a holy/prot paladin. It is still a viable spec and is worth gearing for the future(when things balance out) but they are not the best for dps, fc'ing, or heals.

I'm Ret, and templars verdict has raped face at , however with my current str gear, im going to try how hard my excor hits for and see if prot is more viable for my style of play.

Prot and holy are both much harder to bring down. While rets still seem pretty squishy. I opted for prot for FC'ing on the fly and being invincible 1v1. But if you prefer better damage ret is the better spec.

Not rolling ret, just wanted to see what's going on with 19 atm, like I said, just got cata from a long break. :) thanks for the info!

ive been playing Prot and i must say its a great all rounder, healing might not be imba compared to holy but u can save peoples lives in sticky situations, u can FC really well and there has been many times ive finished with over 50k damage matching alot of the pure dps classes. thats my thoughts anyway if they help you in your decision.

but i suppose ur asking about ret and the few ive seen running around just dont have alot of suvivability compared to the other 2 (as others have said)

Ret paladins hit incredibly hard and with the right gear can be game changing because you can usually drop a wounded FC in 1 templar's verdict (TV) crit. Although many people don't believe in using ANY int on a ret paladin I usually like to feather in a little int here and there. Ret paladins are very immobile and get kitted easily. With the extra int you can be offensive from range and not have to worry about casting 1-2 additional exorcisms. Generally speaking I think prot is the new ret for damage because they have avengers shield on a 15 sec CD (used to be 25 sec) that does just as much TOTAL damage with bounces that a TV crit can.
