Ret Paladin Gear Help

So I'm changing my Holy Paladin to go Retribution; I'm wondering about how to hit cap and whether it's worth it.

Here's what I have equipped already:

Lucky Fishing Hat
Scout's Medallion
Polished Spaulders of Valor
Tumultuous Cloak of the Soldier
Polished Breastplate of Valor (+4 Stats)
Bloodied Arcanite Reaper (Crusader)
Earthbound Girdle of the Soldier
Savage Trodders
Band of Foul Strength
Legionnaire's Band
Insignia of the Horde
Arena Grand Master

(I'll be enchanting the cloak with Stealth, whatever bracers I get with Superior Strength, with Greater Strength, and boots with Minor Speed or Lesser Accuracy.)

Other gear I have, some of which I will equip:

Thorbia's Gauntlets
Goblin Mail Leggings
Foreman's Leggings
Legionnaire's Leggings
Demon Band (x2)
Earthbound Girdle of Strength

I can get any Horde quest gear.

What's the best route to getting hit capped, or is it really necessary? If so, what combination of gear and enchants will get me there?

Well shoot, should've said Horde quest gear. Just fixed that. I'm not going to faction change. Is there any good way to do it without BoA helmet/ring/cloak and without Alliance quest gear?

Im thinking:
Bracers of the Most Trusted
+5 hit to boots
Demon Band

If you dont want to fchange or dont got BoA helm or ring you should hitcap urself with:

5hit to boots, Bracers of Most Trusted and Demon Band if you want to be competely hit capped, you could also try to create some sets with Haunting Blade :)

This is my pala that is really fun to play, missing 1 hit rating but I can't bother to get it. I should get the bracers from the horde but I just don't feel that it's worth it because I want to be ally. Take a look and see if u can find something interesting. :)

just replace ur rings iwth 2 demon bands, u lose 3 stam, totally worth it

why would u take Pursuit of Justice when u can have ruel of law o;?

Imo the crit is awsome :)

Retripaladins gets targeted by everyone all the time because of the well know burst, I would rather gather 3 holy powers just by being cc'd or slowed and do the burst when I get to my target than do a crusader strike for 1 holy power and hope for a crit. U often don't have so much time to gather 3 holy powers so this really helps imo.

well there is no immobilize in the bracket, only stuns r charge and hoj? and locks fear, wich I rarely sees :\ and priests fear. Wouldn't say it is to much of it. But I suppose it's personal, I kinda like to roll with crit. Feels like u get the burst from the crit :}

Also, kinda neat to get the crits when u finally gets to the target :)

Thanks everyone... I'll pick up Haunting Blade and see if I can end up doing anything interesting with that, but will most likely go with Bracers of the Most Trusted, Demon Band, and +5 hit to boots.

Is crit or strength valued more? What should I aim for in terms of each?

Edit - Made three chardevs for the potential ways to hit cap.

Set 1:
Bloodied Arcanite Reaper
Bracers of the Most Trusted
Demon Band
Band of Foul Strength
+5 Hit to boots

Set 2:
Haunting Blade
Black Wolf Bracers
Band of Foul Strength
Legionnaire's Band
+5 Hit to Boots

Set 3:
Haunting Blade
Black Wolf Bracers
Demon Band
Demon Band
Minor Speed to Boots

I filled in each chardev with gear according to which slots would be affected depending on how I geared for hit. Each character has two rings, boots, bracers, and a weapon (no other gear).

The first set provided the most melee damage (100-139) and crit rating (6.89%).
The second set provided the second most melee damage (99-128) and crit rating (6.80%), so that's out of the picture as there are no advantages to using it over the first set.
The third set provided the least melee damage (97-126) and crit rating (6.28%) but allowed me to use a talent for Rule of Law instead of Pursuit of Justice.

So it's narrowed down to set 1 and set 3. I'm leaning towards set 1 and getting Pursuit of Justice as well as more damage and crit rating. I think it's worth it. Any more thoughts?

Entangling roots and frost nova is a very important factors but ye I agree that it's kind of personal.

U should find something that fits u :)

Personally I have 270ish ap with 23.30% crit.

I know alot of ppl that plays ret likes to have atleast 300 ap for "steady" dps. And u can mange to get more hp in that set.
also, Boa axe is by far the best dps wep.

Polished Breastplate of Valor (+4 Stats)
Bracers of the Most Trusted (+9 Strength)
Thorbia's Gauntlets (+7 Strength)
Earthbound Girdle of the Soldier
Goblin Mail Leggings or Foreman's Leggings
Savage Trodders (+5 Hit)
Band of Foul Strength
Demon Band
Arena Grand Master
Insignia of the Horde
Bloodied Arcanite Reaper (Crusader)

Looks like a good setup, but if your worried getting nuked by mages and hunters, you could use Keeshan's Bandana, just an alternative you can use untill you get LFH atleast :)

Rogues rly aint a big problem for ret palas with ur stun + bandage/self heal and bubble, but yeah you will lose 150 hp :p

Usually I have the luck of pressuring Hunters and Rogues into using their Insignias, and as a melee that sucks. So it's all the more challenging trying to feel out the best times to use HoP or LoH.
